Title: 1/6/24 Post by: Slim9797 on January 06, 2024, 05:48:53 pm Pretty short and sweet story. Let dogs out of their pens this afternoon about 2:00pm to let them run around a little while I cut some firewood by the house.
2:15 I saw them headed into the bottom pasture about 800 yards away. 2:25 I hear barking, figured spoon and Misty were being pups and bayed on some cows. Get down there to realize they’re all the way in the bottom behind the big house, bayed in the brush. Sketch, spoon, Misty, and Remmy, my JRT. Had a pretty good guess it was a hog at that point. Walked in and sure enough had about 140 lb boar bayed in his bed. Videod and watched for a little bit then headed to go get lizzo from the house. 2:48 I was leading her in to catch him. 2:56 I had lizzo tied back and was petting on Spoon and Misty for staying hooked and doing a good job. Got back to house and got to wondering just how far that was. Pulled up onX, they went .91 miles to him. Spoon got a pretty good little muscle cut under his front leg. Nothing serious, didn’t hardly bleed but he will be sore in the morning. He took it like a champ. Took 10 minutes to get them called out of that dead hog. It sure the deal there, her brother I got is polar opposite. Most people probably guess he got some hound to him. She’s built pretty good in my opinion but just pint size lol. Don’t believe she’s going to be, but my only worry would be her being slow for what I like.
