Title: Pretty good year so far Post by: Arkansashunter96 on February 01, 2024, 11:32:43 pm Got one gyp I bred and raised that’s picking it up pretty nicely. She reminds me of her sire my old dog ranger. She’s the light brindle gyp. And the cur Julys are as trashy as they were a year ago just doing it better. Excited about starting the six running walkers I picked up. They’re about six months old now and live chewing on a hog hide. Those that don’t bay I’m going to start on deer and hopefully get my introduction to Arkansas’s public land deer dog season this year. Also pretty excited about my accidental litter between the light brindle bitch and my squirrel dog. I’m not for sure how they’ll be but both sides is hunting dog. Made a trip to white river refuge and knocked out a bunch of squirrels until we found out we needed to be on the north end. That probably explains why there was so many squirrels lmao.

I didn’t get to get any hunting dogs until I was about 21 when I moved out of town. I have literally scoured this site for years and I’m just thankful to finally be able to have hounds of my own and get to work with them. I’ve learned a lot of here.

There are a lot of hunters that use a lot of different techniques. Many of them are very successful and like I always say, I can learn something from anyone, even if it’s what not to do.
