I got this dog off Rowdy and I have watched her get better and better each week. She hunts hard and will normally be out 400 to 600 yds but if she gets on a hog she will run off and leave your Garmin. She has a great mouth, is very gritty, she will be caught when you get to the catch. You will have to lead her away from a dead hog. She is the fastest dog I have ever seen. We watched her in the open one day run past a boar and cut it off from the front. I bought her to possibly breed to my Clay dog because of her size and hunting drive. Zelda has found a couple of hogs on her own and that is a tall task in the pack she runs with. She has bumped off game a few times but didnt stay long. Zelda is without a doubt the best prospect in a cur dog I have seen at her age. I believe she will be striking her own hogs on a regular basis by the end of the winter. I love everything about this dog but the last few times I have hunted her she has opened on the track a little. The last hog she struck she ran off and left two of our best dogs, we caught the hog about a mile away in a culvert but she was wide open right behind it. As much as I like her I CANT HAVE THAT!

I would like to trade her for a silent Plott female or a silent female that is at least medium range. I will take $500 for her. You can come hunt with her here or take her on a two week trial with cash in hand. I have described her just as she is, if this sounds like what you are looking for I believe you will like her.

Raider i have a walker gyp that will strike her own and trash broke that is silent when run with silent dogs she is more short to medium until she gets in fresh sign or she will range out futher with a rangier dog and is not gritty at all if you might want to trade and try her and see if she will work for you

IS she only open when the hog is in her sight or after it breaks and she cant see it does she open up, or when she is on a hot track?

Rowdy, I am an old coon hunter and a bluetick man to the bone, My Granpa would roll over in his grave if he thought I owned a Walker Dog....lol

Grant, I believe she is going to be open, I cant answer your question with any certainty. I classify them in two categories

1. Silent

2. Open

thats fine but if she is opening up after the hog breaks that will stop in time because all the others out of that liter are silent as can be!!
