Title: HELP......Remington 770 question.
Post by: slimpickins on January 07, 2010, 08:22:05 am
Anybody seen any reviews, good or bad?
I bought jls41 one last week in a .270 caliber.
Camo synthetic with stainless barrel, purdy rifle and she loves it.
I bought the factory kit with the scope and all already mounted, but the rail, rings and scope are all black.
#1 question, why would Remington set up a rifle like that, all different colored?

At 50 yards it shoots nice, tight groups, 5 inches low and 1 inch right.
I have raised it a total of 10 inches (4 the first, 2 the second and 4 the third, shooting 3 round consecute groups in between).
When it finally got too dark to continue, it was still shooting groups the same as when I pulled it out of the box.(5 low and 1 right).

Scope is a Bushnell 3X9X40 and I have and still use several Bushnell's.
I'm wondering if the scope is defective, as it acts as if the adjustment dials are not connected internally.

Oh, I forgot to say that I had to completely remove the scope in order to move the rings and scope as far back as possible for her to be able to see through it.
I double checked that everything was clean (dirt and oil free) when I tightened it all back down well.
Very carefully, didn't drop or bang anything at all.
#2 Question.......any suggestions?

Here's a direct link to the one I purchased, so question #1 has been answered.
Not that it makes any sense to me but it's answered.

Would sa t has to be the scope.  Have you tried bore sighting it?  I would try that and see where you are..

I took it back to G. M. and they put the bore sighter back in and turned the dials.
They said it was moving correctly and showed me all was good.
Turns out, I suckat math and was using 1/2 math in stead of X2 mathematics.
All is good and i hope to post pics of a kill or two shortly.
