Are you talking about just for the aggresivness?  If so I would put a little more manner "training" in the dog.  The reason I say this is because alot of catch dogs don't live that long and you might want a pup out of a good one.  I have 2 females that I use but sometimes I wish they were males due to them coming in heat.  Other than that they are good dogs

I don't breed catch dogs and have no intentions of doing so, so I have mine neutered. They still know their job and do it the same as they did prior to being cut.

Worked good for me. If you dont do it at a young age it doesnt effect their attitude at all, once the sourness go's away which doesnt take long they are no different...except they seem to eat less-especially females! I had a good male cd that was neutered.

IMO i see no need for it , your catch dog should have temperment and control with out taking his/her  man hood/woman hood away.. what is the reason for this ?

I think technically I would be called a "wrecking ball" JK

Neutering is good there are enough bull dogs! Why Not is more the ?, they eat less and dont hump as much!

have a male full blood bmc catch dog, he had bad dog aggression so had him neutered.  it helped his attitude but didnt slow him down or effect his catching in any way.  he is still a hard hitter that u gotta break off.

neutering a dog is like  given kidz meds. when they are bad in school , my four make A's and B's in conduct and did it with out meds. ... now i'm on my third belt and second mother , but the road ahead looks good !!  ;D ;D

Sure are alot of different OPINIONS on this matter, and mine is I agree that there are plenty of breeders and "accidental breedings" for that to be justification enough for doing this, but if the aggression is the reason I haven't had to do it yet but from what I've seen it does work, and besides you really wouldn't want a dog or human aggressive dog to breed it as a trait....just food for though and my opinion not trying to twist any britches.

I've had two that I've cut as a last resort to curb dog aggressiveness.  No human aggression of any kind.  I would not breed either one of them due to this trait. Both were very catchy before and still are so I don't think it'd affect your bulldog.

For those of you who say a man should have a better handle on his dog, I'd like to know your trick.  I've tried everything there is and for some it works and some it hasn't.

IMO
you get what you put in them brother and some times you must cull if not up to your standards .. if said person owned CD from a pup , there is no reason for the dog not to have a handle and temperment for the job as a grown dog ... now , getting a grown dog and tring to train him for the job "temperment and handle when in a high stressful  environment" may be a little harder , but can be done ... not saying everyone has the patients to do this , we need to be train before we can train .. and yall are right , there are way to many people breeding dogs for pets and selling to people that can't take care of themselves rather a dog for out rageous prices .. As an owner of the APBT you must be very very reasponsible , there should be NO accidental breedings ,  no accidents with live stock or kidz .. if you do have an accident you should learn from it and it should never happen again ..  it's not the dogs , it's US !!!

First of all, didn't mean to steal anyone's thread here and if I have - my apologies.  I simply asked what some of your tricks were for the aggression issue.

I do not personally believe that every dog will turn out the same even if they are raised alike.

The dog I'm speaking of is a hound/cur cross, not a bulldog.  This dog was raised from a pup and has a dog aggression problem.  I cut him about a month ago and so far - that has not even helped.  May need more time, I don't know....  In my mind he has been culled because he will never breed. Aside from that he is a good hog dog.
