EAST TEXAS HOG DOGGERS FORUM

Nocho is an 8 year old strike, rig, find, heck he's a good ol' dog. He loves to be the highest thing going through the woods. Does any of yalls dog hunt like this? He balances on a the edge of a piece of 3/4" plywood and wire panel! He rides up there like it is nothing at all. Most people don't believe me when I tell um, so here he is! "NOCHO" LOL!

That is too funny! Does he ever fall off when you hit a hole? Looks like part dog and part coon. LOL :D

Well to tell you the truth, he is supposed to stay on the 4-wheeler until he smells a hog but I think he falls off on purpose to run with the other dogs!!!

I aint got nothing like that and ive seen lots of others that do this also but my dogs ride on top of the box when we are goin form one area to another and sometimes will jump on the hood !! but the funny part is when they do it in town or on the highway!! Also my male dog will walk out on a grass rake on an airboat !! the rake on my boat is solid but i have some buddys whos are made out of emt. They will pick up my dogs if im not there!!  my male will ballance out on 1/2 inch conduit and ride out over the front of the boat with nothing under him!! ill get a pic next time !!

my dog rides in the back of the truck, an for some reason, when he winds a hog, he runs over  the cab and jumps off the front of the hood.
i think its funny but i don't think my friends like it to much.

The ones I have seen that were good at winding off a rig try to get as high as they can. Nacho take it to a whole different level though.

Several years ago I had an exceptional rig dog named Doc.  He loved to ride on top of my buggy (where my catchdogs ride now).  When getting ready to hunt I would open the dog box, point to my buggy and tell him "get on" and he would run over and get on top.

The first time I ever hunted with Tim Nichol, we were unloading and getting ready.  I unloaded Doc and pointed behind my shoulder and told him "Get on".  I must have accidentally pointed the wrong direction because a couple minutes later, I noticed Doc wasn't on the trailer.  I turned, and to my horror I looked over to see him standing right on top of the cab of Tim's shiny black Dodge.  Talk about an embarassing moment.  I ran over and grabbed him off the side to try and keep him from scratching the heck out of his truck getting down.  Luckily, Tim was a good sport and just laughed it off.

Good stories, I appreciate it. we used to have a joke when it was cold we would take Nocho and grab him by the tail and twirle him around in the air and if he didn't bark there were no hogs there so we would put him back in the truck. Thanks for all the stories.

My old cur Gator loves to climb up on the cab but he gets in trouble every time so he has learned to do it quikly and without to much noise.  On the way to San Antonio once every body was honking and pointing that was the scariest stop ive ever made. Didn't want to throw him and didn't want him to jump and run into traffic. That is the last time I tied him w rope!!!!!

with my luck when mine did it my wife would be in the truck.  >:(

I had to put all the strike dogs in the hog pen one time! They are all males and I never have any trouble with them fighting. Sometimes when I have scraps and turn all the dogs loose at one time to clean kennels, they all eat out of the same bowl.

Thanks, thats Rookie, his mom was a double glass eyed high dollar Cat and thats his dad, Nacho on the right of him. Nocho has bred her for three different litters and has thrown nothing but yeller and red dogs.

T-BOB i had a walker a couple years ago that was my main find dog and more than once id be drivin through town and have people honkin and yellin and screamin at me.......low and behold everytime i would stop to see what the fuss was about amos would be standin on the roof of my dodge lovin life.

KtchemwCurs- That was a registered mini white schnauzer that was a BAD lil strike dog. He would find and catch any hog in the woods and I mean it. He is standing on that sow because he really did find and catch her. He disappeared about 2 years ago from our house.  :(

Man, Im sorry you lost your dog, that is a cool looking dog. I bet he was a bad $ss little dog, I don't feel bad now trying to uphold my name with ktchemwcurs and I posted a vidio the other day of some yellow dogs working a hog and I forgot my boy's little Rat terrior was working the hogs but off in the vidio and a guy replied, HOW MUCH FOR THE RAT TERRIOR! I was kinda embarresed! Not no more! Little dogs have big hearts also!

This is Henry "Henry the Hog Dog"! Henry was once a house dog, but was given to us and is turning out to be one heck of a woods dog! We have brought him to Bremond to the bayings a couple of times, but he is took wild and wants to catch anything that resembles a pig! Watch out Justin Hosea! :o LOL! J/K
