Title: Re: New Pup Post by: make-em-squeel on February 10, 2010, 12:59:55 pm 11 wks old.....just be patiant dont rush em!! Until a dog is 2 the month they are is the same as the year of a kid. in my opinion a 12 mo. old dog is the equivalent of a 12 year old kid for example. Fighting mike tyson in a dark creek bed is a lot to ask from a 12yr old.

Mine are allowed to bay outside a pen when they want to start and work in a pen once or twice at a year old then it's time to go to the woods and see what they are about. I used to start them much earlier and cull too soon. I know I did away with some potentially good dogs out of ignorance in the past. Lessons learned hard are always best remembered.
Good luck, Robert Cox |
