Title: Solid strike dog for sale Post by: Boar Collector on March 04, 2010, 10:11:46 am I've decided to sale my good strike dog. He is a 2 1/2 year old 1/2 Plott 1/2 Catahoula. He hunts short to medium range but I've had him go .6 miles to find a hog. When he is on a hog he has no quit. He went over a mile last night on a group and a couple of weeks ago he ran a boar for right at 2 miles. He is not 100% trash broke but I haven't had him trash on me in about a month. He is a no BS dog so I wouldn't recommend him being hunted with pups. If you yell he will quit hunting for a while. The ONLY reason I am going to sell this dog is because he will bark on a real hot track (not bawl, but chop) and for a couple hundred yards behind a pig when it breaks. I run my buddies shock collar on him and as soon as he barks when the pig breaks I shock him on 3 ad he shuts up. That's all it takes is one little shock every now and then but I'm tired of not being able to have the shock collar on one of my pups I'm trying to start because I have it on him. If he was completely silent he would be worth every bit 800$ but since he barks a little I am going to ask 550$ for him with a 2 WEEK TRIAL.
