Title: houndsmen
Post by: makenbeans on March 23, 2010, 05:12:09 pm
Im thinkin on gettin a hound. Ive only hunted behind 2 in my life so I consider myself clueless on the breeds.
1) The colder the nose the slower the dog?
2) What breeds tend to have a colder nose than others?
3) Which are the faster breeds?
4) What would you consider a COLD track?

If I do get a hound he will be hunted by himself.  Which dog would be suitable?

I like Plotts the best of the hounds I have hunted. The Redbones I hunted were pretty good. Another friend has a Black and Tan that is making a dog.
