Title: Corn field rooters
Post by: Wmwendler on April 13, 2010, 03:04:57 pm
My unlce had planted just under 40 acres of late corn on the top end of a field and he did not tell me about it. >:(.  The result was about 35 of the 40 acres of seed corn rooted out of the ground.  The rest of the feild he planted two weeks earlier and I had been keeping an eye on it....that part was allready sprouted, therefore the hogs wont mess with it untill it puts on an ear and I figured I could forget about that feild intill June.   Big time communication error.......This was the only field in which he had seed rooted out of the ground just happens to be the only one he did'nt tell me he had planted.  We ended up getting 5 total 2 sows and 2 shoats and one shoat was crunched across the river by the dogs.

As you can see they rooted down the row straiter than you can get with the most advanced GPS guided tractor and only missed one seed about every 30 yards from one end of the field to the other, except in one corner.  On the right of the picture you can see that which was planted earlier went untouched because I knew too keep an eye on it.

Good hunt Waylon!

That's crazy how they root them rows like that. We hunted a place last year where they did the same thing.
