Title: Last night Hunt- Pics Post by: Boar Collector on August 18, 2008, 11:18:01 am Well after a brutal hunt this morning I only had 2 bay dogs and a catch dog that were well enough to go..
My # 1 strike dog had about a 4 inch long slice all the way down her neck.. Barely missing her windpipe.. Anyways I got a call from a couple of buddies from Desdemona at about 3 p.m wanting to go so I loaded up the dogs and took off ( It was 78 degrees then!!).. We dumped out on a trail leading from a peanut field to some pretty thick brush. My buddies best dog,Pup, struck out about 300 yards after about 30 minutes of walking. There were pigs everywhere and this was one of the only places around her that hadnt been dogged yet.. We sent the catch dogs in and caught a little 100 pound boar.. I didnt have time to take pics of him because the dogs were all chasing another one.. The dogs never caught up to that boar he was about 210#.. While me and a buddy were walking to where the dogs had just run we noticed Josh and Austin ( Two of the guys we were hunting with) were not with us.. About 15 minutes later they called and said that Pup had found another sow that weighed about 150 and had bayed her for about 10 minutes by himself until the other dogs got there and caught.. They hobbled her up but by the time Aaron and I got to them they had gotten tired of waiting and stabbed her.. Overall a pretty good hunt.. Especially for the Pup dog.. Enjoy the Pics. are her pups.. They're good. Austin Koonce from De Leon.. I haven't been with Austin Harris in a while. Have you hunted the johnson place in duster with rance? We hit a big group yesterday morning in a grain field in Desdemona.. Thats where my dogs got cut.. Im not sure about the Johnson place though. Yes sir, I sale pigs to the Magin's. The Bob Tailed dog is a registered Mountain Cur.. With papers and all.. He's not my dog but he's out of one of the first lines of Mountain Curs ever. He was given to him by a guy from Cisco I believe.
