EAST TEXAS HOG DOGGERS FORUM

So, I'm sitting at work dreaming of hunting an my pups and what not. When I thought man has anyone ever been hunting or running their dogs when all of a sudden they run in to another pack or the dogs on the same heard of hogs? I could just sit and laugh at how funny that would be or really bad it could be....   :laugh: ;D

When i ran coondogs hot an heavy i had dogs come to the tree all the time actually got my first catch dog coonhuntin i got to the tree an the lil fella was shakin vines so i loaded him up

I had it happen a couple of months ago.  Hell came raining down on them from all angles of law enforcement.   ;D

Hunt any Fl public land and you will get pretty used to it ;)

We have had guys outlawing the land we hunt and have their dogs come to ours on a bay and catch. Needless to say they never went their again LOL. The farmer took care of that. We have also been hunting fields next to other fields we did not have permission to hunt and have ours an the hunters hunting that fields dogs mix on a hog as well. It will happen and usually happens in big farming areas around here.

More times then I can remember. LOL

It happens quite often here also! Lately since the Astro has come out it is getting more frequent dogs are being taken! Some times just for the collars and let go miles down the road! I try to keep my dogs close to me but have had them answer another pack and also get a few dogs show up on our pigs that I usually will scare away or if I am heading out I will keep it with me till I get to the check in and hope the owner is there, Most dogs will return to their owners but I have had a couple follow me to the truck and try load up with my dogs.

Had a couple stray dogs show up to one of my bays the other day. Dont know where they came from but they bayed pretty good. But after we got the hog tied they took off.

here in sc. we parked at the gate on public land.this should hold ur spot.20min. in we hear hounds an said thats not our dogs.a large group of hunter turned aprox. 16 hounds on us.but what can u do.

WOW :o I was thinking that was a stupid question thinking this was a small community of us! Well luckly we have not ran in to any other dogs that will be bad with our rcd! lets just say thats a fight waiting to happen! but here in FL I dont know many places to hunt I just figured most people here had the own leases or ranch... HMM goes to show you what the internet can do lol :D

   Haven't had other dogs come to the bay, but had to beat a Dodge diesel to my pack a few weeks ago!

never had dogs turn up at a pig but my dogs lit out the other week and i was on top of a hill listening for a hit up or bark when waaaaay off in the distance i could hear a dog barking, so i headed in that direction only to find after about 6-7 mile that it was a dog from a neighbouring property. i put in some leg work that morning for nothing ...lol

Had a coon hunter show up to my dogs bayed in a river.  After watching me and a buddy swim the cold river to get the hog he said he would stick to coons.lol

It is the opposite of what you think. Most here in Fl don't have any land to hunt. Most either hunt what public land there is or poach posted land.

Most pay good $$$ for a lease and work there A$$ off to build relationships with people to get some other good spots. Once the word gets out there is hogs on public land it becomes a free for all.

I've had coyotes show up to a caught hog a few times. Guess the squealing brought them in and they were right in there with my other dogs and then run off once they see me coming.

When I ran some hounds on hogs we had a whole pack of young july coyote hounds fall off there coyote track and join our dogs on a hog, if it wasn't for them my old coon dogs would have never stoped him,The sound 8 running walker/july hounds on a hog track is a awesomel thing

Nothin better than getting to your dogs and seeing a poacher looking at you after tying your hog over the barrell of your handgun while his friend is holding your dogs..Im pretty certain he number 2 his pants..lol
