Title: Training Question Post by: Draggin Weight on June 03, 2010, 09:26:50 pm I am new 2 training hog dogs and i was wondering im doign it right i have a year old AB female i took her and put her in the pen with a few small pigs. at first she didnt want any thing 2 do with them. but once they charged at me she was all over them catching and locking and holding with no problem i put her in the pen once or twice a week going up on size of the pigs every time at this point she is up 2 a 350 lbs. i have not taken her in the woods yet i am thinking the next trip she will go. since my main dogs got cut pretty good on the last hunt
Title: Re: Training Question Post by: raider54 on June 03, 2010, 09:31:56 pm If she is already catching in the pen, start taking her as a second CD, let the finished CD catch, lead her in and cut her in to the caught hog a few times. Keep repeating this exercise until she learns what the bay is. She will get the hang of it
