Title: Adora #2
Post by: Silverton Boar Dogs on August 25, 2008, 10:56:19 pm
I made a little quick walking hunt here at the house tonight. I had worked some dogs on cattle today so I took 2 others out for a hunt or at least a little exersise. I left the catch dogs at the house with my wife and told her I would call if I got anything bayed up. Now I have not seen any hogs around the house all summer so I was pretty sure we were going to just go for a little hike. I un-snaped Jessie, my #1 strike dog and Mable a young started dog and off we went. The dogs trot off into the wind and then break and run, they had winded a hog and had a bay going 1/2 mile from the house. I ran to them to see what they had, nice little hog, essie baying like a champ and young Mable up close under the hogs head baying like a finished dog. I called my wife and told her I had a bay 1/2 south of the house, little hog just right for Adora. I told here to bring Japser and Adora and let them loose as soon as they could hear the bay...Well all she had to do was open the yard gate and they were off like a shot.I could here them closing in at high speed from 1/2 mile out, It was a great sight. Jasper hit the hog and latched on the nose and 2 seconds latter Adora hit the ear her impact on the hog knocked Jasper off the nose, he grabed the other earand we had a caught hog. I pulled Jasper off and let Adora hold for about 3-4 min. Stuck the hog and walked back to the house to the house. Good Training night for a yound catchdog and a yound baydog.

Good deal Paul, she is a really good looking white dog.  I like her build and it looks like she has taken to the catching role quickly.  Her and Jasper could make some great pups.

Sweeeeet.  Adora looks like she can run like the wind.  I've never got to hunt behind Jessie.  Maybe next time I'm down we can swing it.

I made a short run tonight too.... mine was just for the exercise it turned out.  Skunko

Love the Pictures .  Man I wish i had hogs in my back yard.  I am proud to have breed a dog that is performing this way. I am also proud that she is in the hands of someone that is doing all the right things to make her what she is.  Kool deal Paul. Keep it up . And i look forward to HOPEFULLY  one day making it out there and hunting with you and Her.
