Title: Re: Kennels Post by: Bryant on June 15, 2010, 10:59:08 am Here's an old thread on how I did mine. They've been complete for almost a year and there's nothing really I would change. My favorite part is the septic system...had people tell me it wouldn't work but as much poop as I put down that thing if it was going to have a problem it would have before now! Since building it, I've housed on average 12 - 15 dogs.
Only thing about concrete floors, is daily washing is a must. It takes me about 45 min, and three cold beverages an afternoon to wash and feed. http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/index.php?topic=7028.0 (http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/index.php?topic=7028.0) Title: Re: Kennels Post by: catchinpigs on June 15, 2010, 11:11:22 am have a question fixing to start mine tired of chains what type of wire besides pannels do yall use? Any one use that 2x4 wire? I used cattle panel and lined it with the 2X4 wire and the dogs tear up the wire pretty easy I wouldn't recomend just using the 2X4 wire. There is a tread on here about matts wood kennel construction. That's the way I would go when If I redo my kennels. I have wood floors but his are up off the ground more than mine. Title: Re: Kennels Post by: catchinpigs on June 15, 2010, 12:44:46 pm It was the cheaper 2X4 wire, since I was only going to wire it to the cattle panel. It works great unless you have a dog try to tear out of it and male dogs pissing on it. As soon as I get my shop built I will have a different set up.

This link is too the dog run I built last year using the 5ft 2x4 horse fencing. I ran a hot wire on the bottom and so far haven't had any issues. http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/index.php?topic=5753.0 Title: Re: Kennels Post by: 3-Bdogs on June 15, 2010, 11:14:44 pm Idk about set ups but from my experience build em how you want em the first time if you build them right with easy clean ups drainage, septic it is great less time consumin and all around easier much more pleasant ownin dogs when your set up right jmo
