Title: 6-26-10 Boar Caught In Canal Post by: catahoula_cur on June 29, 2010, 08:41:04 am Me and Dinah took a good friend and his daughter out hunting with us saturday night. This was Brian's daughter Shy 2 hunt with dogs. We got out to the corn fields and turned the dogs loose. After about a hour of riding around and watching the dogs work on the garmin. Red and Sweet Pea found a boar laided up in a small ditch. They started baying and then the hog broke and ran to a canal about 200 yards from us. Thats when they got him shut down on the edge of the canal. We got around to where they was bayed up and all we could see was the bushes shaking on the other side of the canal. I rode around to the other side of the canal to try to get to them, but the boar started swimming down the canal. The bad part was the further they got down the canal the thicker it got. So we desided to send Voodoo (my catch dog) in to help Red, Sweet Pea, and Foot out. When he got in there with them all heck broke loose. So I rode back around to the other side of the canal so I could see what was happening. After about a 20 minute fight the boar started swimming straight to us with all the dogs right behind him. Thats when Jason showed up and he sent in his catch dog and helped us catch the hog on the edge of the canal. We pulled the boar out and tied him up. He didn't have huge teeth, but he put a few cuts on my dogs, but nothing bad. This was Shy's first time to see the dogs on a hog. She was so excited. Let me tell you guy's, ya'll better look out because we got a new youngster that's hooked.... ;D ;D

What breed is that dog with the clipped ears. I like him.
