Title: 7-2-2010 boar
Post by: boarwild on July 03, 2010, 04:02:22 pm
Went out late last night for a quick hunt.  We have had about 7 inches of rain this week so we had to walk most of the hunt, but we turned out having a pretty good puppy hunt.  There is a 60 acre plott of grazer that is about 8 t0 10 foot tall they couldn't get cut before hurricane Alex and that is where we caught him.  We have been after a boar for a bout a year that kept slipping through the goat wire fence onto property we can't go.  We finally caught him sleeping and got him caught.  He has nearly killed a couple of dogs once before, but the got him stopped fast so we got there fast and were able to take care of him.  We "guessed" him to be 250 on the hoof.  He only had about 1 1/2 to 2 inch teeth but just right for damage.

oh yes it felt great.  most of the dogs we took are about a year old so i still consider them pups.  at least he is out of there.  the land owner was getting tired of him.
