Title: Sick Dog Post by: miahogger on July 11, 2010, 07:30:03 pm I have a dog that has large whelps all over his body that are infected that just came up yesterday. The whelps are about the size of a dime. Has anyone ever seen this occur before? I have already called the vet but have not heard back from him yet. Does anyone have an answer?

Hope it did not overheat. It can really cause long term effects on a dog.
Title: Re: Sick Dog Post by: Noah on July 12, 2010, 09:43:00 pm Had a gyp do somethin' similar, puss-y whelps all over... when I looked closer, I saw "nymph" ticks all over her, most had already eaten and fallen off over night... she was in bad shape...
Gave her some benadryl, a good flea and tick bath, then some A.C. time and she was good in a couple days. Some Penicillin couldn't have hurt either if I'd thought of it at the time... Title: Re: Sick Dog Post by: t.wilbanks on July 12, 2010, 09:58:51 pm Had a bulldog and a pup get the same thing pretty good. Gave a shot of penicillin and ivomec, and used
nu stock a couple days in a row. Hair is growing back pretty good. nu stock is just sulphur and mineral oil, so anything with sulphur should do the trick.
