Is it privately owned all the way to the river? I thought that would be some good huntin in there!
Title: Re: New Hunting Property Post by: DangerZone on July 28, 2010, 04:47:40 pm Not sure, we were parking on the west side down past that old beer store of where the bridge is out and walk hunting the river bottom back towards 118 from there when the waters down you can walk the river several miles, this was before all of the rain last fall.
Title: Re: New Hunting Property Post by: DangerZone on July 28, 2010, 04:55:46 pm Hunt county constable friend of mine said there use to be devil worshipers that gathered on the commerce side of the bridge and down in the river, that why the county put the road block up on that side up the road from the bridge. Not sure if that's true but I've been told that by the game warden as well.:@
Title: Re: New Hunting Property Post by: blakebh on July 28, 2010, 05:09:28 pm I might have to try that place out too! I live like a mile from there! Did yall catch anything walkin thru there?
Title: Re: New Hunting Property Post by: DangerZone on July 28, 2010, 06:33:42 pm I haven't seen the water down enough to walk it since last year. I pass by there every day goin to work.
Title: Re: New Hunting Property Post by: DangerZone on July 28, 2010, 06:39:28 pm Nothin of any size just a couple small sows but their back in there if you got accsess to some of the wooded flats up out of the river you should find them.
Title: Re: New Hunting Property Post by: Txhoghunter on July 28, 2010, 08:54:51 pm Lot of small land owners in that area, hard to get enough to hunt right through there. I have a heck of a place not too far from there on the sulphur, but the land owners around the property dont want anyone hunting. So, I just dont go over there anymore 8)
Title: Re: New Hunting Property Post by: DangerZone on July 28, 2010, 09:32:11 pm We would try to catch them down in the river bottom where the banks were to high for them to get out only worked a couple times.
Title: Re: New Hunting Property Post by: DangerZone on July 28, 2010, 09:44:51 pm I just Got access to a good spot off 1530 just out of Cooper a little ways, about a 100acers of bottom stretched out between some corn and soybean fields but it's took spittle bit a kissing a$$ with the land owner and the farmer. They put up some hot wires to keep hogs out of the corn but it didn't work all that well lol!!

I am problly too trusting, and I would hope there better folks on this forum I've deer hunted another piece of his land for the last 4 years and there hasn't been any hog there till this last fall. Any how it's a big state and I hope I'm not steppin on anyone toes cause I wouldn't mind hunting with anyone on here. I'm sure nuff a greenhorn at hogdogging.
