Title: Dog trailer ideas?
Post by: JDJP on August 05, 2010, 02:47:01 pm
Ok so ive got a jetski trailer i want to turn into a dog trailer. I don't want to go any wider than 5ft W, 6ft L ,24Tall the length could be stretched a little if needed.
So im thinking I like the idea of more smaller boxes, I would like to be able to let out 1 dog without having to push the others back like when your putting collars and vests on.

So what would you guys suggest? I was thinking split it long ways down the middle and have 3 boxes on each side, but that would make the boxes 2ftw 2.5ftL any drawback to the smaller boxes?

I want to put some rails on top and be able to throw some hogs up there if needed, no live hogs will be in the boxes.

I want to try to keep it cheep, but i also want it to last, I thought about wood, but Im thinking hog pannel and angle iron is the way to go.

but as far as the front(to block rain), top, bottom, and deviders, Im not sure what to use. wood or sheet metal? I was thinking hog pannel for the dividers but i figure something solid would keep dryer.

help me out guys, I have a buddy that can weld, but i wanted to see if you guys had any good ideas first.

thanks

I've been working on a hog/dog trailer lately.

It is mostly built out of old bedframe and 2x4 bull panel and have hardly no money into it.

I'm gonna do sheet metal front and top though.
