Some of you younger guy ask why don't people help you when you are getting into hunting!!
Well here is your answer!!
I seen a post on here about a guy trying to get a good dog but did not have any money to buy one!!
So I pm'ed him and tell him I got a young dog that has bayed a hog and cow a few times the dog has a chip knocked off his hip from a horse kick!!If he wanted the dog to come get him and try him if he does not make it do away with him!!!
Pretty simple!!
Well I get a phone call and a guy ask me did I know this guy of coarse not!!He said he got a dog off my place out of my dogs and was trying to sale him as a finished cow dog for a $1000!!
I ask what his name was on ETHD he told me!!Then yes I do know him the guy would not KNOW a finished cow dog if it slapped him in the face!!
He has since then text me saying he sure could use some more of my dogs would like to get a gyp!!
Ya'll I got to say if I don't sale my dogs you sure ain't!!
He gets on here all the time trying to trade someone out of something!!
Some people just don't have any morals!!

My understanding whenever anyone gives me anything is that if I don't want it, it goes back to whoever gave it to me unless they tell me they don't want it back. I had a cat cow dog for a while that was a good dog, just never could get him to call off of cows ( my ignorance, not his fault) so I gave him back to the guy who gave him to me. He promptly shot the dog because he didn't want him and didn't want the his bloodline circulating the country. Made me feel bad for giving him back.

  Thats the same as stealing. The older I get, the less honest people I see.

Chance, that is pretty low down.....I should just put these two gyp pups from you on the dog trade for $10,000 each and we can split it  ;)   but really, you don't have to worry bout that with these two.

I haven't been on here a year yet and I've seen dogs go from the dog trade to craigs list more than once already. Asked for pics one  time to make sure and was the same CD for more $$ on craigslist. Though it might be the same person but it didn't sound like it on the phone.

The dog has not had time to be a cow dog I don't think he has been exposed!!If you ain't got enough money to buy a dog you probally don't own a cow to work a dog!! It just burn my butt!!$1000 what the heck!!
The guy that called me was really nice even new the dogs name!!
Heck I feel sorry for soeone if they buy that dog!!
The dog could have made it if some one would have put some time into him but not in that short of time!!

Chance it its not just the young people, but I feel like alot more of the young ones are brought up believing its okay to treat people that way and never have been taught any consequences and just don't have a clue between wrong and right. They are clueless why anybody would be upset with them.


Alot of people don't understand why I am so pesimestic about people.  Here is just another example - A few years back, some people I knew were hunting together, got on a hog the hog broke and crossed he fence and bayed a few hundred yards on the neighbors across the road in a tank, long story short, the guys stopped at the fence, yelling and calling to try and get dogs back, then gun shots and alot of them, several guys opened fire on the dogs, killing a few and maiming others.
I felt bad for one of the guys lost his two best dogs, Thomas and I decided to give him a real nice upcoming dog thatwas finding hogs to help them out. The guys seemed to appreciate it and gave us a few updates on the dog finding hogs. several months later, Thomas calls me from a baying, to tell me he saw this dog and it belongs to someone else.
He confronted the guy that had the dog and said "thats my dog" the guy said it was his bought and paid for, Thomas and him talked and sure enough he bough the dog along with a long story about the dogs background. Anyway he said he sure did like the dog and was real proud of him. I was proud for the guy to have the dog too at that point, but it sure made my blood boil knowing he made a good penny off that free dog we put time and effort into that would not have been a "give away" had it been not trying to help someone out.

put it this way, we bought a dog from him, that probly was somebodies cowdog, cause if he bayed hogs like he bunched cattle I would have had a cracker jack.

I sure am glad I had a grandpa! I already posted about integrity and being a straight shooter. Here I am paying for a almost finished pot locker! Because of people like that!

AHAH pick me pick me I have several stories on him!!! Lucky no dogs dealings!!

That was probly 8-9 years ago, I figured somebody would have fixed him from that stuff by now.

You know Chance he he....Bad part is alot of times he may have a good dog just depends on how and were it came from and there is a good chance you may find a feller wanting to know what you are doing with "his" dog.



Nope....he is still round,called a month or two back and had a hell of a yella gyp he just caught 12 hogs with SOLO for only a whopping 100 buck  :o rolleyes

He needs to get with this other guy he could get $1000!!! ;D

Well maybe someone else will atleast read this and can PM any of us before buying any thing of that guy and contribute to his theiving ways.

Chance you know I remember seeing that post from that guy, and thought that most people that have any pride don't ask someone to help them out, that they don't have any money.

I ain't got no money either, but I can't see going around "asking" somebody to give me something. I sure don't have any trouble taking something offered to me if I want it, but it just would be weird to come out and ask for it.
I guess I would feel like I was asking for charity.

My other thought was if you don't have any money how are you going to take care of the dog if something happend to him? or buy him some wormer?

You touched on something here that I see pretty often that bothers me quite a bit.  I have been fortunate that I have had things and dogs given to me but I have never asked for something from somebody for nothing.  I don't even like the way feels to have something for free after you fought over trying to pay somebody for it haha. 

Chance that sucks that somebody would try to pull something like that.  Reminds of the guy selling the free dogs off of here on CL haha

I am interested in one of your just started $1000 dogs though, At that price you know they can almost compete with a Dogo!  :laugh:

I don't breed that often, but when I do, whether I give the pup away or sell...the screening process is time consuming. If I don't know you, you better have a reference that I do know and trust.

I figured that someone might ask because no one would ever get them started!!I sure have tried to do my share of helping people out but boy that could ruin a feller!!I guess what bothers me the most is $1000 good god!!Well I can set you up with aguy that can sell you one of my started dogs for $1000 !!He did not make a sale with the last person!!

It takes a sad sorry person to do something like that. I don't understand why anyone who's given a dog would turn around & sell it like that, but I was raised differently I guess.

   Like everything when someone sees money changing hands, everyone wants a piece of the action. Its like the horse business there's horse traders and there's horse trainers. The difference being the repeat business.

Years ago when I was first getting into hog hunting this fellow sold me five dogs from about 10 months to 14 months old, they were registered with excellent pedigrees.  He told me they were good dogs but that he had too many,to put the icing on the cake I traveled through 2 states to pick up these dogs. By the time I finished culling I was back to square 1. The year before that I had a pup shipped and by time it was grown it might of wieghed 25 #s soaking wet.

Ever since then I raised my own and never really was disappointed after that.
I got out of the dogs  a few years back and am back in but I know how to do it without getting screwed again... It's not my first trip around the block, :)

However, I have seen good people sell  good dogs very reasonably priced that were worth quite a bit more. These guys, when they tell you how the dog hunts, you can bank on it... :)

I hear that when i was 11 i paid 50 bucks for what i thought was a pure breed redbone hound and dont get me wrong at 8 weeks it looked just like a redbone then it got big and its ears never grew and it started to look like a sharpey x cur mix lol hell of a rabbit dog in the end

Haha I just found out the guys real name!!I got took by a crook!!This is really funny I had read about him on another forum and nev er even caught his name!! Now that is funny!!You pieace of junk cross that liberty county line I'll have you hung by the moon!!!

LOL!   i would like to know too, i know a couple fellers like that in Ga.   told me a big story bout how they was needin some dogs, so i let them have them for little of nothin, a week or two later find out they sold them both for big money.  needless to say, I too, was pretty upset.

From a website moderators position, this guy is difficult. He uses so many aliases and bullcrap stories, it's hard to pin him down. Posting his name probably won't even help the next guy, because it will have changed again.....

I think we all need to figure out who "him" is and deal with real names when doing any trading.... that might just drive him to act right when doing buisness. but he might have aliases for his real name to i guess if he is sure enough a turd..

He does.  That is the major problem, he is just a con man, plain and simple. I know of three message board names, and two aliases. Those are just the ones I am aware of.

Can't you IP block him? I know of other forums that IP block users so that no matter how many aliases they use, as long as they're logging on from the same computer it'll block them. Just a thought.

It doesn't matter, they use throw-away cell phones and sometimes have 30 or 40 different IP's. These guys have been doing it a long time and have screwed a lot of people... but their day is coming. >:D

 Sounds like the fella needs to be beaten nearly to death to change his ways but then again it might not work either. Like Bigo said that is the same as stealing. Something needs to happen to this fella and will eventually, but how many more folks will get scammed before it happens? Id like the info on the fella if someone would like to pass it along to me it would be greatly appreciated!!

I had this same problem. I gave a Dogo away for free last year that was already catching small hogs  because I thought he really needed a good CD. When I gave him this dog I told him for whatever reason if she doesn't work out to give her back to me and I would get him another. Well several days ago I see her for sale. The saddest part is that he will be hard pressed to find a CD as good as her much less better. There was no mention to me about selling her. It was a very disappointing situation and a very good lesson learned about this person. I really do not get it why people act the way they do sometimes.

But I did not loose any money in this deal!!It was just wrong for him to lie and then try and sell the dog for $1000 that is just down right funny!But it would be bad for someone to buy the dog on there end!!

If it's the Dogo I saw on a hunt the other night, that was standing there watching from the waters edge, while my cur dogs were getting their butts whooped by a hog in a lake, then I don't think he will have any problem finding a better catch dog. My cur dogs had more heart than that cull. My only hope is that you as the breeder will do what's right. Have that dog spayed and placed in a pet home, or have her put down, because a catch dog she is not!  

We are talking about the same dog but what I am sure was missed is that she is 14 months old and at least 6 weeks pregnant. None of my females will hunt while pregnant. I am not making excuses and I will find out when the pregnancy is over. Plus if she is a cull why would he sell her as a CD and use my name.

Somebodies daddy didnt cut that ass enough when they where growin up.......Not sure where this guy is from but a buddy of mine bought three dogs from the Lufkin area n the guy told him about the dog n he had the three dogs described only he did call one dog like he was....when he took the collars off the dogs he left one in the truck bed which had different name and number than his.....not long after leaving a phone call from the man sayin he left a collar in the truck dont call the numder it was his brothers.....so after callin the number on the collar with no answer or returned call its still a mistery.......Think some people just need to be culled....

I know the age of the dog, been hunting with her several times.  She has never fit this description....
I can't say anything about the effects of being pregnant, and her catching...maybe that's the problem, I don't know...don't care, I just know the dog quit.

With regards to her being 14 months,
My catchdog started at 1 year old, in the woods, and has never looked back. He may catch a little wild, but if he EVER curs out, for ANY reason. He will never be used as a catchdog again.   Had it been my white dog on the side of that lake Friday night, he would not have seen the sunrise Saturday morning.

Beats the heck out of me. Maybe because he is a teenager and doesn't know any better. I know that at dinner Friday night, he sure spoke highly of your dogs. Maybe he still thinks highly of her.  I am the one that says she is a cull.... Maybe I have more expectations of a 14 month old catch dog... heck, you already said she was as good a catch dog as he could find...  If you think a re-gripping, dog that quits when the going gets tough is a good catch dog, then I know where not to look when I am in the market.

cull?? i hunted with that dogo months ago at night and she was latched on solid. thats the only time ive hunted with her and i didnt see anything wrong with her.

if i were to get a pup from someone they would be the the first one offered the dog back... FREE of charge, no matter how much training and food ive put into the dog. that is their bloodline and they should decide who it goes to.

  Was she latched onto a 290# boar? Or at least attempting to latch on?    Sure, I have seen her catch plenty of pigs. Even saw her help catch a 225# boar at the same ranch this spring. Like I stated, when the going got tough, she quit.  That's a CULL in my book.  Maybe we just have different expectations. ???

no. ive only hunted with her once and we caught a 130-150 pounder.
i have high expectations for my CDs, they should catch a rodeo bull if i tell them too. but i dont expect anything from them if they are pregnant. if that is the case.

there is  absolutely  no  excuse  in  my yard  for a  cd  not  catching after  i  have  caught  with the  dog already .......

Y'all take your personal issues up in private... I happen to have a different side to that story. It's just like everything else... two sides to every story.
