Title: Fence building Post by: Circle C on August 14, 2010, 09:24:36 pm Been spending the last few evenings down the road building a fence for a neighbor/friend. This friend has a roping pen at his place that Mandi and I use free of charge, so when he had a pool put in a few weeks ago, I offered to build him a fence around it.
Here's some pics from this afternoon. We finished up welding the pipe, and building and hanging the gate, then he got some of his workers to come out and install the pickets. With several of our friends and neighbors coming out and helping. It sure is nice to live around good people. Only thing left at this point is to let the wood dry a bit, then paint the pipe and stain the wood. Title: Re: Fence building Post by: uglydog on August 15, 2010, 10:20:16 am Chris, how did you get all those holes dug? Them post hole diggers I got only want to argue with me when I get about 12" and this fence is going up slower than molasses.

Title: Re: Fence building Post by: dub on August 15, 2010, 08:57:43 pm Krystal use the post hole digger on a tractor or on the front of a Bobcat! Call me lazy!
Title: Re: Fence building Post by: Circle C on August 15, 2010, 09:07:26 pm Krystal, I just pushed the posts in with a front end loader. For sinking wood posts we use either a bobcat with an auger, or a kubota excavator with an auger attachment. Beats the heck out of handheld post diggers.
Matt, I've been offering for months to come build your fence.... We could knock it out in a weekend if we just get after it. Only thing holding up progress is you.... ;D Here is a pic from the road. I think it turned out pretty nice. I prefer pipe and cattle panel, or pipe and cedar slabs over the pine.... I am thinking all these should come together in the next few months ;)
