Title: LOOSE FLOATING KNOTS Post by: WOOD on August 16, 2010, 08:25:36 am MY DOGS GOT AFTER A PORQUIPINE THE OTHER DAY. THE WERE SO BAD I HAD TO TAKE THEM TO THE VET. THE VET COULDN'T OR DIDN'T GET THE ONES THAT WERE UNDER THE SKIN. BOTH DOGS THAT I TOOK TO THE VET HAVE DEPELOPED SEVERAL PEANUT SIZE KNOTS THAT ARE NOT REALLY HARD (KINDA LIKE A PAINTBALL) UNDER THEIR JAWS. THEY ARE NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING JUST FLOATING. WHAT ARE THEY AND DO I NEED TO BE CONCERNED?

If the needles are still in and youre not comfortable lancing them I would take the dog(s) back and have the vet lance them/finnish removing what ever debris is left in there. If you leave it like that it will more than likely keep irritating and make it worse or they may work their way out if there is an opening. I dont know anything about porcupines but I dont think you just pull the quills out do you? But as far as the bumps I don't know
