Title: Just wanted to share an idea Post by: djhogdogger on September 07, 2010, 07:23:11 am I know that its starting to cool off now but when it was really hot, every time we tried to bring a hog out alive it would die from stress. It was too hot to bring a dead hog home to butcher so we just left a lot of hogs to lay dead after a hunt because the farmers wanted the hogs removed or dead. I really hated to waste all of that good meat. So i came up with an idea. We always have an ice chest with drinks in it so i put some one gallon ziplock bags in our back pack and now when ever we have to kill a hog and cant bring it out, i cut the back strap out of it and put it in the ice chest. In the winter we will bring the hogs out alive or the dead hog and butcher it out at home but i thought that this was a good idea for summer or for folks that just stick them and leave them lay.
