Title: Re: My New Pups Post by: sbrooks on October 23, 2008, 08:13:47 pm Those pups look real familiar ;D ;D. Got three of em myself. been working them and they are truning on real good. I finally got some cows back on my place so this week i have been running them through there and so far i have been able to keep them away from the cows, except for one of them he seems to have something for the calves; so needless to say hes not to thrilled with the training collar.

Title: Re: My New Pups Post by: Cristina on October 24, 2008, 10:05:48 pm Im happy to announce that today my dad put the pups in the pen on a lil hog along with another pup whos already seen hogs, and he said the male bayed real good. Im not sure if the female bayed, they didnt give me all the details over the phone they were too busy with the pups and others that are also in training. I hope I can get some pics of them on sunday though. I hate work!!! And im mad at my dad for starting them without me, but im looking forward to sundays hunt though ;D ;D ;D.
Title: Re: My New Pups Post by: matt_aggie04 on October 24, 2008, 10:14:31 pm The male fired right off here the first time I showed them a hog and after squelling and more barking the female would chime in. Keep at it, they will pick up on it.
Matt Title: Re: My New Pups Post by: Cristina on October 24, 2008, 10:25:31 pm I just talked to my dad right now and he said that the female got spooked from the new environment and all the commotion, I didnt expect them to do anything because in my opinion they need time to adjust to the new environment, thats why I was planning to start the training on sunday, but I guess he couldnt wait any longer. Ill keep working with them, I know they are going to be some good dogs.
Title: Re: My New Pups Post by: Texas_Cur on October 24, 2008, 10:27:08 pm Thats exciting!!! Wait till you see how gritty they get, I cant keep Peachez from trying to catch in the middle of a bay now.
Title: Re: My New Pups Post by: Cristina on October 24, 2008, 10:31:20 pm I saw that :o I was really impressed by her. She looks like shes done it a million times :D
Title: Re: My New Pups Post by: matt_aggie04 on October 24, 2008, 10:34:30 pm Adam, she just hasn't run into the right hog yet. You need to have a big sow teach her some respect before a big boar hog demands it. Either she will back off a little or get pissed at all hogs and try to catch every one of em ;D
