This is an opinion question and no right or wrong answer but the most common are the cur dogs,, catahoula, black mouth , and usually a mixture of some kind between those... However there is always a better dog in either breed of any kind , it is just preference and getting the job done.. However if i had to choos one of the most consistant breeds that I HAVE SEEN!! It would be the Parker Cur ;D However own a catahoula that is just as good.. ;)

Within each breed there are great, average, and junk dogs. The opinion that I have formed is this, I buy a dog on its own merit, regardless of breed (speaking of a cur dog) I have a personal preference for brindle dogs, but that is only appearance, and because they make a nice rug when you are done with them :o Title: Re: what is the best dog to run in your opinion ? Post by: JUG on October 31, 2008, 01:01:02 pm thanks guy i was asking because i've got a mt.curr i traded for a bull dog and my dad breeds catahoulas i'm just gettin in to this , and i've went though three of my dads to get one to start after the first i started (a male) got hit by the four wheeler and hte other (female) is on cows now . and the one female i've got , locked up with my bulldog . now i got a litter of "pit-houlas" coming , have yall ever heard of the mix workin ?

Post by: Boardog on October 31, 2008, 05:07:14 pm O ya i have had a pit catahoula cross many times and they have worked out well i have a young dog now that is american bulldog, catahoula, cur ,and lacy cross he is one heck of a dog. From what i have seen anything thats got pit in it is gonna have some hunt and gonna be gamey.
