Title: Puppy Training Post by: Heaven Sent Kennel on November 06, 2010, 03:51:44 pm Finally got some time before dark to work with new pups I got. Got me a lil pig that's quite a bit smaller then my 8 month dogs but just right for my 5 month dogs. Made a harness for the pig and put a lead on him and everything was goin' crazy barking, wanting at him. Did this for about 10 mins. 5 month old pitbulls were tryin' to catch through the chain link fence. Wish I would of had someone takin' pics or video to post but will do that soon. Took the lil pig away and when I got back they barked for a second then was lookin' all around me for that pig. Finally glad they are all showing intrest. Makes it a lil bit easier to feed them now. Turned my catch dog out and her ol' nose hit the ground and ran out the track searching for him then she looked at me dumb founded like "where'd the pig go?" lol may have a hot track/catch dog and didn't even know it was possible out of a full blooded pitbull. This sound like my pups are on the right track? how long should I tease them outside the pen before turnin' them loose on it?

If they catch prior to the teeth setting it could pull them out or damage them. I'm sure everyone has their own opinion, but I wouldnt take a chance. The biggest catchinest bulldog in the world aint worth 2 cents without teeth.

You would be way suprised man on how good of a nose some of them have. I have a bull dog that can strike a hog off the truck at about a 100 yards with no problem.

I have seen a few that would wind and trail just as good as any curdog. 8) Title: Re: Puppy Training Post by: joe on November 08, 2010, 05:04:49 pm i have seen it myself
