Title: Family Hunt 12-04-10
Post by: Ladogos on December 05, 2010, 08:40:56 pm
I went hunting last night and My oldest son Daniel and ALL of my nephews got to go with me. My youngest son Dillion didnt get to go because he had to work. I really wish he could have went with us but work comes first.  Anyway we startedhunting down wind and hunted for a couple hours and didn't get on anything. Just as we broke out into the open field we saw a hog run in front of us. So I dropped the dogs and in just a few minutes boots had him bayed in the CRP tie vines . I turned My dogo De'Angelo loose to him from 200 yards and just before he got to the bay ( according to the Garmin ) the hog broke.  Crap, now my dogo is running with the curs in his full vest and cut gear thru this thick tie vines .  De'Angelo was showing to be with the curs the in hot pursit. After about 30 minutes we heard the start baying again and looked at the garmin and it showed all of them to be bayed .  So we headed to em on the wheelers and drove to about 30 yards.  When we stopped i told my son and nephews  " get to em boys " and they all was tripping and pushing over one another trying to be the first one there.  I done kinda like that old bull and just walked over to the catch. LOL .  After a few quick action shots I let my Nephew Ryan stick his first hog.   DeAngelo was gassed pretty good after running in those vines with all of his cut gear on.  So i gave him some water and loaded all the dogs up. We then took a few pictures and started hunting again. Jumped two more times but wasnt able to get them stopped.

De'Angelo about to be loaded up .

Nice Hog and Hunt, but if you are going to hunt during deer season down there please ask your dogs to avoid the cameras.  I have gotten two phone calls asking me if I was hunting when I wasnt supposed too.  I just told them I am in Kansas.  Also, they busted some poachers shooting deer in that area so they are really beefed up in security both by oil companies, sheriff, and game wardens.  I know Mr. Ricky let you go in, but if his boss finds out we are all cooked!  See you after deer season.

Ok Joey first off I DONT hunt on ANY property that I dont have permission to go on. Second off I got the same phone call that someone was over on the property that you hunt on SUNDAY night.  I was at a wake Sunday and not even in the woods. So if it was someone out ther hunting then it wasn't me.   And the hog that we caught that is on this thread wasnt even caught anywhere near either one of these properties so we werent hunting anywhere near yearwood road. We were across the river on another one of my places.
And they told me that you seen that i had caught a couple of hogs and told them it was probably me. Im Glad there beefed up in security that helps us all out.

Oh and I thought we were better than that for you to put this garbage on here.  You have my phone number and if you have something to say you could just pick up the phone instead of trying to accuse someone of something

I wasn't replying to this hog or hunt, however, there have been dog tracks all over the Samples, Blounts, and Campbells. It is common courtesy to not hunt during deer season because even if it doesn't bother the deer the deer hunters will blame us period! We both know that 700 acres of wide open field will rarely keep hogs within the boundaries of the land you have permission to hunt.  Hogs will almost always end up on deer hunters properties and when they see pics on camera and tracks it makes us all look bad.  I have been guilty of it in the past, but I choose to respect the other hunters and not become their excuse.  Wasn't trying to air any laundry, just giving you a heads up because I know that you are a ethical and responsible hunter that doesn't want to leave a bad taste in landowners mouth.  Afterall we all represent each other when we hit the woods.  When I get back to town I will give you a shout and you are more than welcome to hunt with me in places where deer hunting isn't allowed and hogs are a direct threat to kids.
