I can run almost two one gritty pack and one dang near all catch just depending which get loaded.  I can pull one and add two and they get catchy so it all works

Is your dogoue de Bordeaux hard on a leash. I've always wondered how they handle. Also do you only hunt him in the cool months? I like the way they look but I've never had the money to feed one  :D
you got any pics of that bad boy?  A friend of mine in San Antonio has three of them, all guard dog trained

Belive it or not i run him in any weather, he does pull on a leash and hard but he knows where to find the bay i just let him out of the box and see a flash of red, 5 seconds later a squealing pig. They honeslty dont eat that much only as pups. Ill put soe pics up

I don't know if I can described it real good but I had a pinch collar for a pit that looked like a bunch of tpost ties stuck together with a lil chain that clipped to the leash . It really helped keep that dog from dragging my arm off.

Different strokes for different folks, I've got one dog who I keep trying to train to only go after mule footed Russian hogs but he keeps trashing on those regular hogs. I'm getting a little frustrated with him so he may go on the dog trade soon ;)

Believe it or not, I think your full of number 2.  You're either a "Logan" or fishing for some AR fuel.   If your really trying to learn just ask, you don't appear to have much experience.  Sorry Mike can't help it.

Oh boy another hater,
kevin please explain how i am full of it. I run him where i know big hogs are and no hes not a running catch dog. And I have enough experince kevin. More than enough to take the biggest hog down.
Still for those biger russian hogs i just dont think pits can take it i have seen big russian hogs go running with pits on their ear or even some bulldogs! With the bigger hogs mastiffs/great danes or any of the larger dogs is a must.

Danes...... huh.

I've sure seen some 350-375lb hogs stopped and caught by 4 cur dogs and 2 40-50lb pits.

i don't know how much bigger your catching, must be hogzillas i guess.  And you must have ESPN if you know which "team" to take at any given time.

Never been called a "hater" before.
Just reading your posts explains what I'm talking about.

Why do you make your packs for each different situation, by mixing your pack with different purebred dogs?  What makes each one better for each situation?

Kevin this is getting comical, I dont even know how you have the patience.....different packs to catch different hogs-LOL I cant even predict a dry run much less what I am going to get on, guess I'm slow at this since it's only my hobby

I have hunted with a few on this board and some not on this board. I enjoy seeing others' hunting styles and how they put their teams together. I never know enough. I would really like to see how your dogs work together. Let me know when you are going out and I will be happy to get dirty and tie the pigs for you. I will even haul all the pigs out for you too. Just let me know when you are going out and I will be there.

dabutcher, you just said some big ones are stoped by 6 dogs so yes i mean i do use mastiffs on the bigger ones, beats having 6 dogs on one hog
kevin here is the reason having diffrent packs makes it better in diffrent situations
the black mouth and catahoula on the first ne just bay hard and the pit catches hard and for hogs 200-250 range they are the best
the bigger dog like the douge helps keep the bigger hogs under control like some of the 400-500 pounders we get every now and then the grayhound is fast enough to really get ahead of them and come up and bay and the mountain cur bays hard too so the douge knows right where to go
and last i use the dogo and girtty cat cause the cat gets the back leg and my dogo gets the front and can control most bad hogs and the plott pit is fast and bays hard and then helps everyone out so the hog dosent get the advantage.
I look at everything in science and for a diffrent outcome you need diffrent variables.

What kind of dogs do you use on your 20 to 60 pounders weener dogs and rat terriors or what?
How do you now what team to take if you dont know what you are goin to catch?
Do you hunt tracks and go by the size of the track or what and then decide what team to use?

Im really intrested because i may be doin it all wrong
I would really like to see some photos of your team in action like on the 400 to 500 pound hogs and the other team on the 200 to 250 range have you ever let your 200 250 pound range dogs catch a 400 to 500 pound hog if so how did they handle it?

BaronBoar,

Where are you located? Im free this weekend, and ill give you a chance to win alittle money.

We will go hunting and see your teams work. For each hog your designated team catches that is in the weight class you say they catch, ill give you 20 bucks. For each hog they catch that is outside of the weight class, you give me 20 bucks.

How about we start with the 400 to 500 pound weight class and work our way down?

And please, no checks, cash only......

Did I mention I can use one hand. If you can catch anything I will flip, tie, and drag it out with one hand. I bet seeing that would be fun. All the b.s. stops when it flops on the dock. I notice my offer was ignored ;)
