Title: South Texas Hunt Post by: Mike on November 16, 2008, 06:43:20 pm I went down for my annual hunt with one of our vendors at work. This is a brand new ranch out of Dilley that they traded their old ranch in Brackettville for. It is 2,500 acres, high-fenced and loaded with some awesome whitetail and axis deer. All the bucks were brought 4 years ago. They are ear-tagged and all 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 years old now... you should see all their offspring running around with 8 or more points on their first set off horns. :o
Being this is their first year to own, the goal is to take out about 50 whitetail does and about 20 axis does. I had my heart set on an axis, and was covered up with axis bucks. After reviewing my video, they decided there was two cull axis I could shoot... one was big as a horse. Unfortunately, the axis didn't show this morning so I got a nice whitetail doe to put in the freezer. I took a lot of video and only a few pics... here's a couple. 25 deer eating the golden nuggets... (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/DEERHUNTER280/Dilley2.jpg) 1 of 4 brand new rangers, completely decked-out to get around the ranch on... That Ranger is ridiculous hahah it has attachments attached to attachments hahahha. Really neat looking place, I have only hunted one place that had axis and it was in the Hill Country around Vance and man it sure was neat to see them and hear them bugle.
