Title: How do you find Hog Huntin Land?
Post by: ntxriverhunter on January 01, 2011, 10:44:29 pm
I've always been a big deer hunter, so I've always had a lease that I hog hunt to. But its 2hrs away. From reading post it seems like many of you have land access in multiple areas. Are there different ways to get on land to hunt hogs besides leasing a traditional hunting lease.

Thanks

Brian

Being respectful to land owners, taking them with you. Most of all keep your nose clean and build a good reputation. Like the movie "Field of Dreams" build that reputation and they will come.

Know how to BS with landowners! Have good dogs and don't piss off any landowners!

I would say... a good reputation and the gift of gab. Also, if the land owner doesn't know you very well, be sure to invite them to go along on the hunt so that they can build trust.  :) If they want the hogs removed, show them that you can do the job without any damage or injury to their property.
