Title: Another Oklahoma Hog 1-8-11 Post by: Heaven Sent Kennel on January 09, 2011, 09:37:19 am Loaded up before dark last night to go look at some new land. It was me, dusty E, and a buddy of mine that's never been hog dogging. Got to where we were bout ready to turn out and came across farmers pushing cows down the road. So we did what we could do and helped them get a few in. Ended up being some farmers I had permission on. They said they had mo re scattered out but that they would take care of it. So instead of running dogs where they were tryin' to get cows in we just headed on up to the river place.
Got up there and got Dusty E's lil gyp the main strike dog, and his 1 yr old pup, my kemmer help dog, and my 7 month old, bmc pup all geared up and headed out in the woods. dogs leavin' out good and just walking down the edge of the woods it was a pretty nice night. we were 3/4 of a mile from the truck and were 250 yds from the 2 older dogs when dusty's lil gyp struck one. The pups around our feet took out to check it out. it broke a couple times but never got more then 100 yds each time. finally when we were within 50 yd's and all the dogs baying me and dusty cut our blue pits loose. start in there dusty going in hot a heavy. told him to whoa up a sec bout that time bulldogs hit and we wen't to see what we had. we get in there to see what was going on then all of a sudden dusty just barrels through this thick crap. I find me a way around and when I get there had my bulldog on the ear, dusty's pit on the other side. 2 bay dogs catching a little. and my bmc pup had him by the tail while dusty was riding him. I was crackin' up as we get the legs and get one tied down. The new guy was pumped and excited for getting to tie dogs back. I like takin' new people once in awhile. I still remember my first hunt when I was standing there with all the dogs barkin' and not knowing what to do but it was all good and good. Guessin' this one at around 250+ game scales at check station was only 200 lbs. She's done me good on two big hogs now would be alot more if it weren't for our bulldog situation there for a while haha.... Either way thanks for the dog she's been exactly what u said she was
