Title: Freestone County!! Post by: TShelly on January 10, 2011, 09:57:34 am Colton, Jim Ed, Big E and myself Woke up bright and early Saturday morning and made the 100 mile drive north to meet Byron. We were hunting a place right off of I-45 and could hear and see the traffic all day. We let out Big E's OLD MEN down on the first run. Cowboy, Roscoe, and Blaster are some of his original dogs and have a combined 29 years of hogs under their belts. Well they're starting to get their legs back and fell in on a track. I watched them on the garmin cold trail and work a track for about 1/2 a mile before they found him, they ran him back towards and set down bayed a few hundred yards out. We sent Briar and Goose to them, pups outta the line. They had this nice little boar sitting in the open and it was a thing of beauty watching those young and old dogs work him. Im still not used to this video on my new i-phone and instead of capturing everything I double clicked and just gave a teaser one second live action photo. Bummer because it was some the best footage Ive ever gotten, oh well. Got him tied and added Bryon's half BMC/ half Plotts Bonnie and Clyde to the mix. The dogs were working through another big block of woods when Briar and Blaster fell bayed on a big sounder and soon had everyone hammering. The hogs broke and I caught a shoat with them and they rolled to the NOrth bayed on about 160 # boar hog. Well he broke right as we get there and the race is on for a good 45 min until he finnally drops all the dogs on another shoat. We get him caught and Bonnie and Clyde pick up the ttrack stars track on and carry it a mile to the South bayed. Well JAson and I slip in only to have the hog blow up the green cd and head 1.5 to the north. An hour later Byron finally gets permission to go in to them, only to have this little SOB blow up a different CD and head back a mile or so South. Well Clyde sits him down right next to 45 in a low swampy pasture and we send Obama and another CD to them and finally catch the little boar. Clyde and Bonnie showed out staying with that hog that long, its good to see the dogs getting a little leg under them. Good luck and Enjoy!
