Title: Small diesel engine? Post by: dub on January 12, 2011, 02:03:32 pm Does anybody have a small diesel engine I can run some bio-diesel through? My son made bio-diesel with vegetable oil and algae oil. He wants to see if there is any difference in the fuel economy. So just put a small amount in and see how long it runs. I want a small engine so I do not have to bleed too many fuel lines.

Post by: Purebreedcolt on January 12, 2011, 02:22:42 pm Can't help with the engine but have a buddy that his little brother makes it and they run it in their tractors say there is basically no difference except for the smell. He said the only downfall is if he gets the right or wrong oil it will run u out because of the smell think he nearly kicked his little bros number 2 one time for the stench I thaught it was pertty funny my self

The problem is we only have a small amount and the the fuel return goes to the fuel tank so it would be impossible to know what was used and what went to the tank. It would be great if he could have made me a couple tanks so I could get MPG. But he only had a quart of algae oil. It would be much easier with a small engine.
