What y'all think about the show it's pretty good so far huh

It's all about good storytellin' to keep the general public's interest... I'm content with the editing thus far...

Just kinda sucks that I've got to go to work in the morning.  Watching dogs work makes me want to take mine out.

his style is different , iv never spot light and let my dogs run down the light but i thought it was good. the bowhunter was good to.

I'm probably going to sell my dogs, move to Montana, and use my dog money to build hog proof fence around my new bomb shelter!

Me too, I watched the firs 5 mins of pig bomb, now i feel a vacation day coming on.

I thought the show was a joke and the people of L3 Outdoors were the furthest thing from hogdoggers I have ever seen,surely they  were letting that little hog handle them for the show.The Florida guys were more entertaining and had better dogs than they did.Cwards videos show  real hog hunting with real hogdoggers.I would have never done that show.

ya the sho was not worth staying up to watch but im up and loading my dogs and my camra think i might send a video to the discovery channel lol

The show was informative and it showed how various hunting styles are used in the United States.  Overall I give it a B+.  Tree huggers should not be upset with what was broadcast Hog Doggers are trying to protect their precious vegatables too.... ;D

i think it was a joke all the way around the had a bunch of inexpeirienced hog doggers i think there is alot better vetran hog doggers  with real hog dogs ,and hog tie that would suite the program. ,not a bunch of zip ties and ft long knives ,bows and arrows and scared of average hogs but i guess if your just an avererage person waching the show it would look good ,sorry just my opinion tells the type of people they have removeing hogs these days .

I tried keeping an open mind before the program came on since I had read some post on here last week. I'm glad the post were up, otherwise I would have missed the entire show since I don't watch that much TV on Sunday nights. Well, I watched the "Pig Bomb" program first and thought they had some good interviews w/ scientist, but was surprised on how little data they had. Surely we have been having hog problems longer than they made it sound and they still don't have a DNA profile on the animals yet. More on that later! And we are trying to figure out what "strain" of hog we have in the US by doing a "visual comparision" with that of pigs in Russia??????? Ok, how long will we look at them before they say "yep, these pigs have some Russian traits in them".

As for the people on the show - well, I could tolerate all of them pretty good knowing that the producers of the show were "making" TV. However, the people from L3 Outdoors looked like a bunch of idiots! Really, you gonna drive up in a truck with all the decals, get out in your starched shirt with the monograms, take the time to put the brand new shiny "breast plate" on your dog, then roll around on the ground with a 100# pig like it is eating you alive..........REALLY....... "Come' on Man"!!! Let us not forget the hot pink knife with the matching stones to go with the "bedazzled" belt she was wearing! I mean that is the kind of woman my wife wants to beat, just for being so stupid on TV. I am fortunate to have a good looking wife, but she won't be dressing in fake stones to go hog hunting with me!!!! (Just Saying)......

Now, to the meat and potatoes of my critique - I have one question.....If L3 is there to do a hog removal, why did they not shoot the pigs they could see just driving around w/ the spotlight. I mean, I would use all methods available to me that were legal and to me, I would have shot pigs while riding around, then turned the dogs out. Just my humble opinion to eradicate as many as possible.

I'm not saying that I'm a real hog dogger or that I am some old time veteran who wrote the book, but discovery channel folks contacted myself and krystal rohan for a series. They would have contacted pistol ward too but she was already under contract. Krystal rohan and I both got more of a Hollywood ratings type vibe from them and thus did not sign on the dotted line. Cward has like four attorneys including an entertainment business attorney to make sure that her stuff doesn't get twisted by editing. It has cost her a fortune which she has gladly spent to promote our sport in a positive way. To do it right and to safe guard our sport from demons takes someone with more insight and money than just some fella clamoring for the spotlight saying "we're gonna  be on tv". Once you sign, you belong to the production company and are at their editing mercy throughout the fulfillment of the contract unless you have taken the legal steps necessary to hold final approval rights.

I'm not saying that this program was bad, nor am I saying anything negative about it. I sincerely hope that the program stays on the up and up for our sport. I heard that it was pretty civil to us thus far. However, my guard won't be down until the final episode airs.

After re reading my previous post, it read like I was saying Cward was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. I hope it isn't  taken that way. The Cwards are good honest people who work hard for a living just like the rest of us. I didn't mean for them to seem like they are rich snots or something. I apologize if it came out wrong.

It didn't sound that way to me either... I don't know about a silver spoon but that jack russell that Chance uses for a catch dog has got to be priceless. LOL  ;)

I think it was ok. Not my style of hunting but if it works for them.....go for it.
  I am just glad they didnt use some white trash with wormy scarred up dogs. It could of been worse. I have had my fair share of words with L3. If he depends on catching hogs for money then he must be doing right by the people paying him. Bad press travels fast with farmers, if he wasnt doing some good he wouldnt be able to provide for his family. It is for people who dont hunt with dogs so of course it played up for TV. It could of been alot worse. I think alot of people are jealous,plain and simple.

Its a shame they could not have gotten a catahoula or blackmouth cur breeder to load up about 15 real hog dogs and bay up about 20 hogs in a brush thicket for a hour or 2 without putting a mouth on any hog and then driving them  horsebackinto a hog pen a mile away.  Great danes???  Utv's and lil tiny spotlights??  I have 6 Nitelights that last all night for peeps down here who go hunting on us.  Sure that guy does not get paid for bringing 2 utvs out and 2 catch dogs they had to shine for hogs and sign for???  That lil hog still had milk dripping off of its lips looked like to me.  They should at least belled that dane so they would not lose him while they were putting on makeup for the cameralol  They need to go with Lavon Davis on a ainrboat hunt or down on my rancheslol  Naw, never mind, they never put that on tv, better to have some wannabes chasing shoats with nets and purty shirts and decaled truckslol  (I am getting ready to build  5 acre pen so i can get them to come down at night to film me and my 30 terriers hunting Hogzilla at night with a 6 foot net!!!!!)  I likeed some of the hog hunters but not the flakes.

As stated above I think alot of people deep down inside are jealous including me. I know a bunch of people the discovery channel called as well as me looking for a crew. The first they I told them was I would never do anything to shed a negative light on doggin. Hell I even found out L3 was hunting a ranch that I have been the only dogger on the last four years. Again at first a little jealous but was glad to know it was someone who wouldnt shed hog dogs in a negative light. I dont agree with everything they do and what they may or not had said in the past and yes the show was a little cheesy holleywood bs. You would hope a farmer watched that and said you know maybe we should start letting guys run dogs out at our ranch....because the fact is that for every positive light on doggin there are 10 more out there that are negative....As long as it makes doggers look like a positive and useful tool to remove hogs its a winner for the sport. People talk about wanting to stand up for rights for runnin hogs with dogs and then bash someone no matter the style, dogs or what has been said in the past is not going to help and only backfire... Just my 2 cents and only my thoughts......Long live hog doggers...

For the most part I thought it was good I liked the end were the greatdane threw his paw out and turned the pig around caught 

Some great replies and I agree for the most partthe spotlighting was something Id consider cheating lol but I just like to see my dogs work jmo I had a couple of buddies call me and say why you don't have a Dane lol but as long as it's all positive I'm good with it

I don't see why yal are so mad about his shirts and decals, I mean if I was going to be on tv I would try to look my best, you can't look like a hobo and expect people to take u serious , and l3 is a company right? Why not have decals on your truck? And I wish I had a bling knife to tote with me as many times as I loose knifes some sparklys might help me find it with a flash light lol

Sparkly, and pink? Hell You cant blame a female for being a female and wanting to look good on TV! I will even admitt that I would have had my best pair of overalls on when the cameras were rolling! lol

LOL I recorded it just to see for myself and been watchin' it gettin' a total kick out of it. Them boys in florida with the newbie was pretty funny. "That hog ain't afraid of them dogs...that means he's wild" is that all it takes to determine if something is wild? If that's the case I'm very freakin' wild lol. Corny??? Yes. Interesting??? Yeah. I could watch it over and over and nit pick it to death and laugh about the whole show. I was happy to see them show that a Trap does not always work and had to turn to dogs that was pretty cool. Just glad it ain't me in the lime light for everyone to nit pick me to death...already get that as it is don't need the world to do it also.

And that bow hunter might be straight backing the jack wagon but to crawl on your hands and knees up into the brush after a wounded pig, with nothing but a machete that takes a pair

Yea, I was thinking that i would have sent my catch dog in first. If i didnt have a dog, I would have set his little tunnel on fire and after it burned up then go see if he was in there.  ???

why did they need dogs if yur in a fence place and can see them shoot them if yur removing them for the rancher, but  hes style works for him and they did catch some pigs. but if it had been me and pops doing it, bmc would have been pealling the paint off the hood. but i wont say anything bad about 3L cause they never done anything to me and if i had the chance i would have done the show and then all of you could make fun of me. but it was ok show

Im always in the process of obtaining hunting land and therefore try to dress and act with some level of professionalism!   I want to make sure when I catch the eye of some land owner while driving thru town I look approachable and not like an axe murderer.  If y'all think that's squirrely then be my guest.

Never met L3 Josh and to be honest I would love to make a living hunting.
Me personally I would like to combine a passion for the outdoors and a longing to tell others about Jesus to find some way of making my mark on the world.

All in all I thought the show was decent, well put together and informative for the general public.

 :D That is funny.....yea Ive seen a few fellow hogdoggers that are pretty scary looking. That first impression can make or break you on aquiring land to hunt.

T-Bob I don't know ya but just the fact that you want to use hunting as a way to introduce Jesus to people says a lot about you.  I  can most  definitely respect that. I've always had the same idea but I guess God has different plans.

So at the beginning it said hogs are dangerous don't try this at home, so does that make us as cool as the guys on jack ass? And did any one else realize that those boys in Florida didn't have leads for the dogs?

Nor did they have good vest for their dogs looked like they went straight from duck hunting to hog hunting with those neoprene vest lol

The part that had me laughing was the Florida boys running to the bay yelling at their dogs - "Catch 'em! Catch 'em"  "Hold 'em!  Hold 'em!"

Like the dogs were listening to them.
