Post by: Hog_Hunter_57 on January 28, 2011, 03:22:07 pm
Has any one done the FPU program if so how did you do?
My wife and i teach it at our church and well some times we get some people that do it and stick with it but others not so much. If you have completed it and have suceeded i would love to hear about it and share it with my class.
I will start
my wife and i have paid off 40K in 2.5 years and now we only owe on the house.
Last year i bought the wife a 03 suburban and paid cash for it and it feels great.

WHEN YOU DON'T OWE ON ANY THING YOU CAN GET MORE DOGS!!!!!!
At least thats what my wife tells me.

I used to be a Financial Planner and had many different people walk through the door. The Dave Ramsey is good. Most people pushing books and talking on TV say stuff that really should only be said to certain people. I would recommend Dave Ramsey to anybody with a debt problem or even to reduce debt.

We're not doing the full rice and beans plan but pretty close. November 2009 my wife lost a very high paying job @ a very well known car dealership as the auto industry began to collapse. By January, the company I worked for was nearing bankruptcy and I got laid off. What made it all scarier was the fact that wife was due to give birth to our first child in May. I had been putting off going into ministry for as long as I could out of a hope to earn enough money to be "secure " before submitting to what God had called me too.  Problem is God gets kinda funny about us putting things in front of him. While it was fresh, it was scary but what he taught my wife and I is that the stories of manna from heaven and a prophet on the run being fed by ravens weren't just stories for Sunday school but were the promises of a loving God who will always provide what we need to serve him. I am now working at a pest control company 4 days a week and @ a church 3 days. My wife now has a wonderful job and our baby girl is the cutest girl in Texas! Money is a great thing, don't get me wrong, but I'm happier and have a better marriage now that we know how to put it in its place.

Hope I don't sound to preachy but this subject gets me excited!

If you had things in order it would not be faith. I am sorry but you have the second cutest girl in Texas ;D You know I am messing with you. But it is important to remember that eternity is much more important. Thanks for the words of hope.
