Title: Heat pad
Post by: dub on January 31, 2011, 01:05:40 pm
Where is the best place to pick up a heat pad for my dogs? It is getting cold! Does anybody have them anywhere near Houston?

Check with the folks that installed your dog sauna. If they dont have any leads then the people that do their nails should.  ;D

Y'all funny. I got my girls in the sauna but the new puppy might not be welcome. I would rather not bring the puppy inside.

walmart has pretty good heating pads but if your wanting it for the little bonehead coming from my house, ill save you the trouble and gaurantee you sheel chew through it. ive been keeping them all under a hatlamp in the garage when its cold. and i dont blame you for not wanting them inside, the first command i teach a pup is shut up and she aint got it down yet. ;D

Seriously dub, I think they do better with hay than a heat source from the bottom. It will burrow in it and be insulated all over. A heat pad will be like standing by the fire in elk camp. You get cooked on one side while ice is forming on the other.

Best one is from a place called Kane manufacturing co out of nebrask, i have used these for years for the small terriers, they are expensive but worth it if it save on pupply or helps on sick or cut up dog heal, they are very quick to ship, have sveral sizes and make sure you get one with a reostat to adjust, they are made for of all things a filthy dog killing thing called hog!!!lol  I will try to find a hot link you can click on, what size dog are you trying to keep warm, they are made tuff as hell for idiot mama pigs and you know how crazy they are about chewing stuff to smithereens,  I dotn know wherre you live but another good thing about them is they can be put down flat and also attach to the side of a dog box to help keep warm.  I saved several cut up or run over or even shot dogs with these pads, they are washing able and the cord is pig proofed!!! call me if you need more infor or in a hurry, i just went thru this and found out the Puriena stores down here dotn stock them or even order them any more and it cost me a lot of grif and streess with a hard litter of terriers that was several days too soon and got wet before they got into the house in a rabbit hutch. my old kennels at the ranch had better set up than i have here now for sure, had to move here due to leg going out. 361 354 0572 if i can help, going to try to find hot link now bee bak laters

I use the Sunbeam 731-500 Heating Pad with Ultra Heat Technology because you can regulate the heat. I got it here: http://toponlinereviews.com/product.htm?id=B005EPJAY8&list_id=3117958011&i=1 (http://toponlinereviews.com/product.htm?id=B005EPJAY8&list_id=3117958011&i=1)
