Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: cowcountryhogdogger on December 15, 2008, 08:15:39 pm I daywork and cowboy and i just use the same tiestrings that I build to tie cattle with. I've also used hobbles that i've built some and they work good but sometimes you don't have the right size hobbles for the pig thats caught. So now all I carry are rope strings.
Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: hogslayer08 on December 15, 2008, 08:45:46 pm Ive only been around hog hunting for about 2 or three years and i still have to go with the rope
Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: bosshog on December 15, 2008, 08:53:26 pm Well everytime ive went huntn we have always used ropes i think ducktape would be to mutch of a hastle
Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: cowcountryhogdogger on December 15, 2008, 08:55:58 pm I sure agree with that. Just one more thing you have to find a pocket or something to stick the tape in when you can hang strings around your neck/shoulders with your leads or through belt loops. The rope is just too handy to bother with Duct tape.

Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: tnichol on December 16, 2008, 08:52:16 am Never have tried duct tape - we use hobbles or rope when we tie 'em. Have heard that some guys use handcuffs.. I've never seen that
Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: Jasonmac on December 16, 2008, 10:26:17 am Hand cuffs work great on bigger hogs not so good on little ones. I perfer hay string on the little ones.
Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: hogslayer08 on December 16, 2008, 11:19:18 am we just use regular rope like a ranch rope
Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: txmaverick on December 16, 2008, 03:49:14 pm I have used rope, tape, zip ties, wire................the best thing I have used and I wish i had tried them years ago is the uglydog hog hobbles. Only way to go in my opinion.
Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: Ladogos on December 16, 2008, 06:30:38 pm I usually use rope , untill recently and i bought a pair of hobbles and i kinda like them. BUt i still carry rope with me .
Duct tape is to bulky and most of the time where we catch hogs there usually all wet and muddy. So the duck tape is not a good solution for us. Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: clint on December 16, 2008, 07:05:25 pm we use hobbles on smaller hogs but we can't find any hobbles big enough for big hogs so we use tie rope for them
Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: younghogdogger. on December 16, 2008, 09:10:08 pm we usually just use tie rope but one time we lost the rope and had to run to the truck and use some duck tape its worked pretty good on the 100lbs hog

Title: Re: ducttape or rope Post by: jdt on December 20, 2008, 10:13:52 pm if you use rope(1/4 -3/8) you can tie any size hog . and youll always have what you need without having to worry about keeping up with tape , hobbles or cuffs . use nylon as cotton will stretch. j m o
