Title: Plastic kennel flooring Post by: AW on February 22, 2011, 10:28:40 am Have any of yall used the plastic flooring that looks like expanded metal in your kennels? I was looking at it and for the price it seems the way to go for me just curios if anyone has tried it. They priced it at $13.60 per 2’ x 4’ piece and it has 1.1" holes.

Title: Re: Plastic kennel flooring Post by: RBB Roper on February 23, 2011, 07:42:32 pm I have expanded metal floors in my kennels and used 1" holes. I would suggest a little bigger hole i stil have to scoop my kennels. I wouldnt suggest anymore than 1 & 1/2 a buddy of mine uses that size and it is next to perfect if a toe goes through it they can get it back out. After mine have been in use awhile I have seen a couple things im goin to change to my floor. I'm goin to put a foot or so of matting down right in front of the doors so when they go to jump down they dont catch their toes. Thats my 2 cents worth. If you could find a picture of the plastic floor id like to see it I may change to it, thanks.

Title: Re: Plastic kennel flooring Post by: cajunl on February 24, 2011, 01:37:08 am I did not like it. I found them hard to clean. They are a good product. I am in the nursery business and used them for years for nursery benches.
But to me the holes are too big and everything falls through and starts to smell. Title: Re: Plastic kennel flooring Post by: AW on February 24, 2011, 09:50:48 am I am fixing to run over there and pick up a sample piece and will post a picture. Cajunl that’s where I got the idea I saw a guys pens with a plastic floor and he said he got it from a nursery that went out of business.
