Title: Catahoula Bull Dogs Post by: Hawkeye on February 24, 2011, 07:45:09 pm Does anyone have information on them? I want a dog that can blood trail, guard the house and tackle the occasional hog. Any advise on other breeds that will do the above would be great. By the way i am new to the forum and reside in the TX hill country, y'all take care, Mark

We use to hunt him by himself a lot. Straight catch , wind from the truck and trail on the ground. As soon as you legged the hog he would relay & catch another one. I been looking for breeders in Tx. My situation now is I have to older dogs that will not be long to this world. Its gonna kill moma when they go. I sure do like the looks of them and I would love to have help blood trailing deer.

By the way i am new to the forum and reside in the TX hill country, y'all take care, Mark half hound with half pit or half mtn cur with pit. Then pick the right pup from the litter. One that wants to trail and has grit. The right mtn cur that has lots of grit and has a good nose crossed with pit is a good cross. I have seen quite a few of these dogs that hunt, trail and catch pigs. Even mtn curs with a quarter pit will work good for what you are wanting. Chainrated, those are nice looking dogs. What breed are they? I am impressed with them at 10 months old...
