im thinking about making some pit/curs. the female cur is open on track. do yall think the offspring will be open?

You will never know until you make the cross and try it but, my bet is they will open just long enough to get a mouth full of ear. ;D

I would guess no unless she's from a tight line of open curs.....my last pit/lacy was more squeeky on track  :D

my guess is totally silent and no bay for some and a few squeaky ones when about to catch. Maybe even 1 or 2 that will bay. Just can't really say until they are hunting.

I've got two ABD cur crosses they r 9 months and they bay for abscond in the pen then catch straight on the ear. Haven't been able to get on anything in the woods yet.

I've not been around allot of pits but just about all of them were open on track...more of a sqeek or yip but open none the less.  If I bred a pit to an open running cur I would just about bet on them being open running dogs.

half pit and half mtn curs that I have hunted behind are hard hunters with no bark just straight catch.

I think there will be a good chance of some of them being open.
I have hunted a lot of bulldogs & never heard one make a peep on track.

I would bet against being open on track.  I have pit X cur cross that is "stone" silent.  He looks like a pit, hunts way out like cur, and is straight catch. 

well i decided tonight that im gonna make the cross. shes too good of a dog to get rid of for just one flaw so.... after she raises the pups her vocals are getting cut.... gotta love garmin!!

Im have dealt with many and many of the cur pit crosses. That is my favorite breed of dog. The males generally all ways turn out to be really ruff at a really young age. The females tend to get ruff over a little time. But i have seen many of cur pits open on track. ecspecially when day hunting and a hog breaks. or them being young. They tend to get really excited and will yelp. one of the best dogs i have ever owned was half pit and he bayed. It took some major damages to his body before he learned to respect, but he would bay. When he he first started baying. He would yelp bad on a track and major bad on a broke bay hog. But like people have said you never no until you try it. I have seen full blooded pit bulls and ab bay and trail bark beleive it or not. My opinion in breeding, is breed the best to the best and take no chances. This dont also prove right, but i like to strengthen my chances.

gota quit speculating and do it if it doesnt work out just note not to cross those two lines again never gna know until you try it
