" any suggestions "

( A ) get a dog bred for hunting

( B ) Get it from a man/woman who hunts what they breed and catch what they hunt for with said dogs with some  degree of success

( C ) Before you get a dog go along with some different people and see what type of dog you like

( D )  Find some one who can help you learn the game, work hard and hope for some luck along the way

God bless

the german Shepard isn't bred for hogs but bred for small animals and to track people. why couldn't i train it to hunt a hog? Shepards are very smart. i Know the game. i already have hog dogs. i Know what type i like. im just trying something a little different.

Hold your horses there partner what part of the post was offensive or rude???????????

She asked for suggestions,I assumed she wanted peoples honest responses. I gave them with out an ounce of disrespect or degrading remarks, How can I know looking at a computer screen if she is an expert or a beginner, When you ask for suggestions what do you expect honest reply's

If I said any thing out of line or rude point it out, Maybe it came across rough to her but I'd sure love to here how????  also what critical statement did I make??????????  All I did was try to help and answer her post and offer FRIENDLY advise.

T-BOB the post was not altered in any manner or way at any time

The first thing to learn about forums like these is to NOT wear you feelings on your sleeve. I didnt see anything offensive about any of the post.

One of the best all round huntin dogs I ever had was a complete mutt I never trained him to do anything he just did it on his own. He had ridgeback in him but his momma was a hairy ol mutt that had a German Shepard look to her. You may find what everybody is looking for in this cross who knows until you try it. My guess it will make a rcd help dog I wouldn't think it would have much hunt to it but should have the grittyness and size to shut down just about any hog. Good luck!!!

Due to MY experiences, I will not have anything crossed with heeler. IMO not very smart once aggravated and go for the heels, not a nose to nose bay.

I dont think anyone on here would put ya down because of your gender. Hell the best hand in the woods that I know of right now is a woman. Welcome!!
