We just finished whelping our newest litter of plotts. Sire is a versatile strike dog that can strike hogs, cats and bear and is a gentle as a feather with my children, dam is also super gentle with my children and can turn the heat on hogs and cats extremely well and is better than decent on bear.

thats a real houndy lookin plott alot you see have shorter ears like a cur , where you located ?

yes sir they are awesome. I sold the other two older female pups today. If you are looking for a stud dog to your plotts let me know my stud is a producer!

Just curious, how mouthty are the sire and dam on track? How far do they typically range out and are they very gritty?

depends on the game they are running but on hogs and bear they have a two-three bark alert that lets me know they have the scent and once the hog is in sight they start to open more and will bay the heck out of the game and sink ivory when needed. On lion they bark more as the scent gets stronger and on bobcat silent until jumped.

i had a solid black male that was built like that, he was still a young pup that has`nt figured out what was goen on yet so i gave him to a buddy in corsicana he is about 10 months old now and is sorting things out

Cutter- she is a pocahontas dog, her sire is Pocahontas Gus. The sire of this litter is super awesome and we are starting to line breed back to him but we do not want to line breed to tightly.

I'd like to see some pics of her standing when she wasn't showing signs of being bred.  Looks like a nicely built female.

Did I miss where younsaid whether any will be available to the general public? I really need a good cold trailing hound to track the pigs after they've been on my corn.  Beautiful plotts you have there.

We have spent more money in these dogs than we should have  ;D but they are awesome, my wife loves them, my kids love them, according to my wife I am obsessed with them.  rolleyes They hunt extremely well and put up my sons first lion, his first hog and bear with them. We have produced several litters, I will replace a pup if it doesnt trail, and we screen all of our pups and to those they go to. We have only had to replace one pup and that is more than I would like to but these pups have my name on them and with that I will keep my word, the pup that leaves my house will trail and hunt, how much is up to the person who has them and how much exposure they are on.

Beautiful pups and momma, had a pocahontus bred gyp and she would run a hog for up to seven miles.... good dog just alot of range when your walking lol, do you mind if i ask who you got the female from? I may know but just curious.... you wouldnt happen to hunt with a guy named Mike Allison a few times a year would you?

the burkett family is where we got her. She is a good dog with some drive to her.

From lookin at the peds, they should defenitly be cooold nosed, track drivers, with more bottom than you can stand.

It took us a while to acquire dogs of this caliber. My father told us that when getting cattle, horses or dogs to get the best genetics and go from there. As a young kid starting on my own, I didnt do that and have learned from that mistake.
Although it is true if you put enough miles on any horse or dog you can usually make a finished product, but if you start out with the best genetics you get there so much quicker and happier.
