Title: Mad as heck
Post by: 3Whoghunter on May 06, 2011, 06:55:35 pm
 >:( well here we go. I had this dog for a good while he was my best I would let anyone in the world come pick this dog up and take him to the woods and garuntee a hog everytime whether it be on this place or that. Well anyway I was forced to sell him by the old lady. Well before I sold him my cousin got the chance to experince how well of a dog he was.  About 2 months went by and a lot of discussion.the guy I sold him to sold him to my cousin because we needed that dog back to complete our pak. He says he bought the dog to hunt it but the sucker wont let me hunt the dog and he really don't go hunting that often. What kinda crap is that. I'm just mad

man I dont even understand what your saying.
You still hunt often but your wife "MADE" you sell your good dog
your cousin paid for the dog from someone that you sold it to when your wife made you sell it and your mad he wont let you use it.

 ???

1. dont sell good dog
2. i you d have to get rid of it - give it to cousin with aggreement you can use it whenever
3. dont be mad someone doesnt want you to use there dog

Just My Opinion

I had the same problem years ago. My first wife gave me the choice her or the dog and I took the dog. Best decision I ever made.

Post by: 3Whoghunter on May 07, 2011, 08:20:26 am
Yea I should have made that same choice but I thought I couldn't do that to my daughter. Also I didn't have a chance to not sell the dog she put them on Craigslist while I was at work. Anyway I got 2 pups out of him and the female he came with so I guess I can start there.

My wife don't like to hunt. She thinks I have too many dogs. She thinks I hunt too much. She calls my truck the dirty truck and thinks it stinks. It does smell like hogs and skunks. She would not even think about selling one of my dogs or would not tell me.

But if someone buys the dog it is theirs good or bad.

Post by: TimmsHogDogs on May 08, 2011, 12:32:28 pm
Why did she make you sell the dog? Was there something about him she didnt like? Doesnt make much sense to make you sell your best dog but then not care about you having pups outta him.... Just curious

Title: Re: Mad as heck
Post by: 3Whoghunter on May 08, 2011, 09:17:06 pm
She was mad at me for something. So she got back at me by putting them on Craigslist. She wanted to sell all my dogs but she kept the ones she liked.

That don't make much sense. I see a girlfriend or wife getting back at a man but sell my dog. Any dog I don't care I'd flip out. U said u sold him so it's ur fault too but it is not my wife's place to sell one of my dogs. Hers she can do ever she wants. U should of put ur foot down. And u wouldn't b mad now

Title: Re: Mad as heck
Post by: TColt on May 09, 2011, 08:19:14 am
Dang, you must have really screwed up! That was really heartless of her to sell your dog weather she liked him or not. I would not hunt for a week and spend time doin honey do's, taking the wife to dinner, fixin hot baths, buying flowers, ect. Then buy the dog back from your cousin at a time when the wife is really happy with you  ;D ! If this was the day she was mad at me and tryin to sell the dog though, I think I would have gone to town and rented her an apartment.

I would put your wife on craigslist for sale if I was you! ! Don't put he for sale one here though cause doubt anybody would by her after reading all this lol!

No one would take her if I even told them free to good home. Her dad is the same way. They think they know all and can do whatever they wont. Guess I should have put my foot down but I didn't. My cousin wont sell him he loves that dog. Everyone who has ever hunted withhim liked him but its my lose. Just hope them 2 pups come on strong and rough like he did

none of my bussiness, but since you put it up on a message board..... you best take a look at your marriage.ive been happily married for almost 34 years and that dont sound like a happy marriage, of course it aint all sunshine and roses but it aint that either. it works both ways but in the end one gives more in certain things, but that puttin your dogs on craigs list aint how a marriage works.

My wife doesn't like to hunt , so she sometimes get mad
at me for hunting , but who give a f@&$ as long as she doesn't
pay for dog food and doesn't have to feed them she can sit
her but in the nail salon and talk to them about it..  :(
She supports what I do and as long as it isn't at the barrs!

No way she will tell me to sell my dogs or get rid of anything
Of mine . I take that back I gave my full-blooded English Bull dog
Away Sunday because she told me too :o !!! no hard feelings on that
He was just a pain in the butt

Something youve got to remember in a relationship, everything is give and take, my husband works out of town and state most times, so those of us at home take care of his dogs but he works hard for that money and loves his animals and family,  my point being it is not always about what one person in the relationship wants, its about what the both of you want or need... As for the comments that people would leave their partner if they were ever told they had to get rid of their dogs, JMO but thats pretty sad, I would never ask my husband to sell his dogs unless my children needed something and we couldnt get the money any other way but I know he would do it in a heartbeat if need be...

I brag to people at church that I come home at three or four in the morning all the time and my wife hates it. I come in covered in blood, mud, and sweat and I smell like a skunk. Me and my boy know to leave our clothes outside even when we don't think we stink and go straight to the shower.

Dogs may just show up but I don't ask her for a thing. She likes to see how happy our son is after hunting. So she gets mad at both us. I am training him young to know that men are always in trouble so we might as well have fun. But never do anything just to make her mad ;D

See I think I screwed myself all together. We have a 2 year old daughter that is just like me so far she always wants to go ride around and look for pigs or be in the woods with me and loves just about anything to do with cattle, fishing and of course hunting and her mom is the opposite she can't stabmnd to here me talk about pigs or even look at my bayed solid magazine. She wants me to get sale the rest of my dogs and just keep my 2 redbone pups only because she thinks they are cut with their long ears. I think its time to trade her in for a newsreel model

Title: Re: Mad as heck
Post by: dub on May 12, 2011, 10:05:22 am
Just adjust your training. Always throw in something they like. You go hunt and then give her a treat. Nothing too fancy. That way when she thinks hunting she feels good. I wish my wife would toss me a treat. ;D

growing up my dad always told me about the cool things he use to have, and the money he use to have, and how he would be driving somewhere and see a cool bronco or something and buy it, and how he use buy guns.  One day i asked him dady what happened, he said well i traded all that for an ex-wife, and a wife.

I try that I took her hunting with me couple times but she dnt like it. She's a city girl from Austin her parents don't like hunting or anything like that. And I'm just an ole country boy that grew up hunting but oh well. I wanna see her tell my daughter she can't have her own oak of dogs one day

My wife new how much I loved hunting when we got married, I was off 42 days this past deer season and hunted 39. She gets upset but she knows I love it she gripes about the dogs but I'm putting in kennels with drains, auto watering, and gonna rig up some type of auto feeding system to make it easier when I'm gone working. That being said I have no problem cooking or doing laundry ect.. When I'm off work and not hunting. I also make it a habit to take her nice places or send flowers and always have a few days planned somewhere nice around the anniversary with no kids. Any relationship takes WORK on both sides to make it work.

Thats pretty much how i roll, I work 12 hrs a day 7 days a week most of the year, and when i get a day off im hunting. ;)  Yep, she fusses about the dogs, me being gone, all the money i spend on equipment and dogs, but she hasnt worked in 7 yrs, and gets to stay home and take care of the kids, which isnt an easy job, but it aint a factory job either. She dont like it, but she feeds and takes care of my dogs while im gone, helps me pack my gear, makes sure i aint forgeting anything, "cause i always do" cooks and does all the things house wifes do.
Now we dont always see eye to eye, and we are both very stubborn and hard headed which make for week long arguements, cause she wont admit shes wrong and started the whole thing anyway ;D    BUT, she would never, ...........i mean better NEVER put my dogs on any craigs list.  Its alot of give and alot of take, and ALOT of forgiving, on my part anyway
But if i would have came home and my best dog had been sold, some of her prized posession would have magically dissapeared too,  ;)  But thats just me, You are the one that has to live with the decisions, that you make not anybody els, and when there are children involved, it does make a difference. Good luck

My wife get rid of any of my dogs and it will be on like Donkey Kong. I make sure my wife knows there are lines you don't cross. I try to play nice but I make it real clear that my wife picks how I play. Nice is always better.

thats the whole fact of this thread, u dnt sale a mans dog just because u dnt like it!!!! i would be the first person in my house to suggest salen my dog if it came down to my kids. with that being said, there are lines u just dnt cross, and to sale my dog while im not home is way over the line!!! no for all u guys just in the starting stage of a relationship, if she does`nt like the fact that u hunt and the time u spend with ur dogs she wont ever be able to stand it or tolerate it better to part ways early. my ole ladie knew how i was when she got with me and she hunts with me here and there and sometimes she does get in a up roar cause i hunt atleast 4 times a week. So when im not hunting and tending to dogs it is all about her and the kids.so give a little ;)! to get alot >:D

My wife enjoys hunting wth me. She has never ran dogs with me, but has spent alot of hours in a deer stand and riding around shooting pigs. but she knows when to not push it to much. she understands that hunting is "my time" and she doesnt push me about it. she also knows that she would have to find a new place to live if she ever sold one of my dogs. not mention she would get to dig a whole for this POS shizu she has in the house....lol

Just a thought and some experience for all you guys sayin momma would be down the road..  I had that same mentality.  She didnt like the dogs and hated me huntin..  I cut down to 2 yes 2 times a YEAR!!  She still didnt want the 2, yes 2 dogs i had at the time in the yard. She and my son were more important than the thirty minutes a day i spent with the dogs.. I told her i was raised with dogs and she could have her damn cats in the house but i WAS keeping the dogs..  Long story short.. I have an attorney and am fighting to keep the house, and see my kid, whom ive lost precious time with.  Id have got rid of every damn dog in the yard and the neighbors too to keep my youngin at the house!!!!!!!  Cheaper to get rid of some of the dogs and wait it out... TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
