Title: Re: mountain arabs. Post by: GAhunter on May 09, 2011, 08:40:55 pm Good looking dogs! If I'm not mistaken, bull terrier/greyhound/pointer is how the breed is crossed. Am I correct? ;D
Title: Re: mountain arabs. Post by: TxHogDoggin on May 09, 2011, 08:53:48 pm Great looking dogs. Ever since I have have heard of the breed I have wanted one. I would love to try one out here in Texas.

Title: Re: mountain arabs. Post by: mountainarabs on May 09, 2011, 09:07:11 pm thank's fella's,the breed was started by crossing bullterrierxpointer and greyhound.they have been around oz for around 30 years.they are a very good nose dog with a heap of hunt in them and will hold real big boar's no problem.ive caught plenty of boar's over 100kg with 1 dog.they will start to work at a early age going of the truck consistently on find's with a adult dog from 6 month's and lug very early.i have 4 children and the youngest is under 2 year's and they are very soft around my kid's and i also run a sheep property here and they are never interested in stock.cheers lee.
Title: Re: mountain arabs. Post by: dub on May 09, 2011, 09:18:34 pm I have thought about a trip to Oz just to see the dogs in action. I wish we could get get the trucks y'all use for utes. Small four wheel drive diesel would be great. Then throw some Bull Arabs on the back and go Aussie style. Guess I need to wear shorts ;D I have lots of respect for the Aussies y'all are one tough bunch.
Title: Re: mountain arabs. Post by: GAhunter on May 09, 2011, 09:20:47 pm I've liked the Arabs for a little bit now. A good friend of mine grew up in Oz and has been here for about 18 years. He is currently working on his own Arab type dog over here. So far, so good! We'll see what the future holds with more linebreeding and keeping the best pups. Arabs are probably the best purpose bred dog out there! I'd love to see one work someday!!!

You go on a vacation and bring the dog back cheaper.i dont do planes.... It is a couple thousand to send a dog. It depends on where. I have not checked Oz but I know if I want a Dogo from Argentina I will go get it. To bring a dog on a flight with you is only about $200. Title: Re: mountain arabs.
