No you will not have to be there however you will be responsible for getting the "Final Rule" and all information, to get started hunting. TDHA WILL NOT CALL YOU TO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE RULES. you will be able to log on to the website messge board orcall an official for final rule after official contest has begun.

Do you all have private land to hunt or where do you hunt?
Say I drive from SC to hunt how would I get land to hunt on?
How do keep a hog meat good for three days without keepin it alive in a trailer or something?
You weight the hogs gutted ?

Hogs must be Gutted (Feild Dressed) before arriving at weigh-In.

You must aquire your own land to hunt, reccomended to partner with somebody local that has permission to hunt land. Also a valid Texas Hunting licence is required to enter.

I have seen folks line the bed of pick up in a Tarp and rolled back over the top of the hogs with bags of ice in the chest cavity and packed around the hog carcass that served pretty well to keep hog fresh & edible

For the past two years I have seen plenty of folks come up with pretty good ways to figure it all out, and alot of teams were very succesfukl at abiding by the rules and still catching alot of hogs.

Don't Forget There Will Be Random Polygraphs done to help keep this 2009 tournament the Best and most Equal Ever!

Seems every year after the contest there will be some that whine and complain about cheating or complaining about the way things were run, a few months after the contest we  (volunteers of TDHA) post on every popular hog dog board asking for input to try and make this event even better for contestants and the Hungry and very few offer any input to help make it positive suggestions. However after the team of volunteers works hard putting in many hours of personal time to finalize rules and make donations happen to offer wonderful prizes, there will be a few that will constant pick at the rules looking for loopholes, and complain, however many of those don't contribute at all. For those that do read and ask good questions and offer suggestions I want to Thank You. This event is not easy to put together, there is never enough help to go around, so I also want to Thank those that put in their time to pull off an event of this caliber.

This IS the Biggest, Richest, and most Succesful Hog Dog Tournament in the World. Period. It has Grown 4 fold in three years and continues to grow and bring a postive light to this sport,  that has been known in the past , as A Redneck Sport and other negative terms, because it raised over 20, 000lbs of meat last and should generate atleast 30,000 this year. To you as a competitor, a volunteer, a donor, or a sponsor, take pride in this event.

THANK ALL YOU WHO START WORKING TO MAKE THIS EVENT HAPPEN SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE

It sounds like a heck of a good time. Sounds pretty fair too. Wish I could meet someone that could put me on some hogs for next years TDHA.
Hope it turns out great for everyone envolved.

well, if ya ever been around Hallettsville there ain't a whole lot to do that wont get ya in trouble. ;)

i used to be in a archery club....i know how it usually turns out when it comes to work groups and trying to get tournaments together....a lot of members and little help.  i ain't saying anything bad about anyone, most people just have a lot on their plate.  but i'd definitely be more than happy to help out anyway i can.  i used to be hardcore into bowhunting but after the first time i went hunting with dogs i haven't really touched my bow since. ;D
