Title: The biggest sow I caught to date Post by: Tomball Dogos on July 18, 2011, 09:26:35 pm These pics are a couple of months old. I went to our farm house in Caldwell Tx. and got permission to hunt the 400 acres next door to our land and I hooked up with some young guys that are just getting started. We dropped the dogs and in about ten minutes my male dog Dusty opened up about 70 yards from us and then my gyp Bella opened up and a hound that the boys had got there. As we went in the sow broke and Bella put the breaks on it. Luca was about 10 months old at the time. I sent him in and he sealed the deal. when I got there they were in the bottom of a dried creek bed and it was just starting to get dark so I did not realize how big she was until I tried to flip her. After the forth or fifth time I went a head and stuck her. It took five of us and my mule to get her out of the creek and busted everyone of my leads. After we got her out I looked at my garmin and both of my dogs were 1.5 miles out and sitting down when we made it to them they were 600 yards apart and both bayed. We went to Dusty first and I let the boys lead Luca because I could not keep up with them. Got the pig caught and stuck it. It was 80 pound boar so we headed to Bella and we got about 60 yards from her and we heard her catch out it was another small boar. I tried to catch her but she left again and ended up where we started and we called it a night.We got the scale out to see how much she weighed the scale only went to 300 pounds and it was maxed out and we did not even have her off the ground yet I say she was close to 400 pounds I sure wish I had a bigger scale. This is Luca's biggest hog so far.

That was a really good litter of pups. Dusty seemed to have the least interest of all, just goes to show they all need a chance! Take care and once again, that's the biggest sow I have ever seen.
