Title: 4H Sponsor Post by: TinyTexasCowgirl on July 20, 2011, 03:00:21 pm Hey! I am trying to get some fundraiser's going for my 4H group. We are doing a basket raffle. Like making a bunch of baskets that each follow their own theme. "Foltbal basket" "Rodeo basket" "huntin basket" you get the drift. My question is, does anyone think a Hog huntin basket would go over well? There are a BUNCH of hog doggers around here, and I'm thinking the basket would be a cooler, stuffed with a cut vest, a couple of collars, a staple kit, leads, that kind of stuff... Next thing is, what is the likelyhood I could get the collars and vests donated?

Title: Re: 4H Sponsor Post by: TinyTexasCowgirl on July 20, 2011, 06:34:23 pm UUGGG I am so upset! I have called the places that you gave me, plus a couple, and got told "Your not in my area, can't help you" by all of them!! What ever happened to helping kids just because it was the thing to do, not because helping them could benefit you? ? ? What no one seems to understand is that around here, there isn't anywhere to go, so we go to places that are out away from us, therefore it would help them to know where to go... Sorry, I'm just REALLY upset.
Chance, when would you be able to get those leads to us? Here is what I am thinking.. The "basket" be a cooler, and have a cut vest (thankfully I have a brand new one I am gonna donate myself), a couple of cut collars (still need) a couple of leads (THANKS CHANCE), a headlight (cheap but would work in a pinch), a Staple kit (still need), Mule Tape (have bunch), a break stick (got one!) and a 40 lb bag of sport mix. What do y'all think? Title: Re: 4H Sponsor Post by: cward on July 20, 2011, 07:37:06 pm Tiny you got to remember alot of these would but are donated out everyone and there momma has a benefit. We have had are brisket donated for year for our 4 h but OK try not to get so upset when they don't donate most or real good people.
Title: Re: 4H Sponsor Post by: TinyTexasCowgirl on July 20, 2011, 08:50:25 pm Wasn't trying to say they ain't good people, I know most are, it's just frustrating that the reason they won't donate is because I live an hour and half from them, and so I'm not in their area of sale, yet most of their sales are website oriented and there is NO ONE in my area that does hog doggin stuff. I guess I am go na donate my cut vest that I bought for Grace to the cause, and buy a couple of collars. Don't know what else to do...
