Heat Strokes ! I have not hunted my longer ranged dogs in a month are so . Title: Re: Better be Careful Post by: wilton on July 24, 2011, 06:59:01 pm Same here about pups also, although mine have plenty of shade i'm careful not to get them too over excited, worked up, etc. for any reason. We've got less than 6wks till Sept. not that's any great relief but it'll be better than where we're at. So just stay hunkered down and ride it out.

Title: Re: Better be Careful Post by: TexasHogDogs on July 24, 2011, 10:45:10 pm You strike a bad bad running hog at the wrong time like late in the morning 9.30-10.00 am it can turn into big trouble in a hurry in this heat if you cant get him stopped and dogs that will not quit it dont matter what kinda great shape he is in.
I know people that has thought the same things said in this thread and cryed the Blu's later on......... One that got about a 2000 dollar vet bill and a couple great cur dogs dead and a bulldog . That is not a smart remark that is a fact . Title: Re: Better be Careful Post by: North Cedar Creek Ranch on July 24, 2011, 11:20:51 pm I hear ya THD, im not tryn to b smart r start a pissn match either. Its true bad things can happen but i choose to hunt em but i try to b smart about it. Not saying others are not smart i try to b as careful as i can.
Again not trying to offend anyone r say that my way of hunting is the only way to hunt this is just what i do.
