Title: Kennels
Post by: ROCKIN ROO HOG DOGS on February 08, 2009, 09:48:35 pm
Here are some kennels i whacked together using 10 x 10 tractor supply pens and a tin roof to keep the rain off and supply shade in the summer, the dogs seem to like it

I was actually thinking about doing the same thing since I already own one TS kennel. I think I will give it a try.
Thanks for sharing.

what do you have on the ground to prevent digging out?

The roof is angled towards the back. There is a 4x4 across the front of each pen and then a 2x4 across the middle of each pen and then the back is screwed directly to the panel.
Krystal,i always put my pups in them at 6 weeks of age, they have never tried to dig out in 2-3 years, but that is the plus side of only having a few dogs, they get out for exercise EVERY day, rain, hail or shine so not too much pent up energy to put towards digging.

ive seen cattle panels wired to the bottom of kennels to prevent digging out, put hay or some cedar chips or something on top of the panels

i like the way you did the roofs, simple and effective
